Indeed. My Ubiquiti EdgeRouter has a password-protected Web interface on 192.168.x.1 (x=1 or 2 depending on other config options), and the AmpliFi WiFI access point I use has a phone app that shows what's connected to the WiFi network.

Do any of you Volumio users ever have it go offline? Tonight all I can get to come up is the logout page. Tried logging out then back in to no avail.

What logout page are you talking about? If it's for MyVolumio subscription, are you able to open https://myvolumio.org in a web browser and connect to your device from there? Your pi should be listed, and it should connect when you click on the green arrow button.

Yes. It’s not a regular occurrence. Has maybe happened 2–3 times all the time I’ve had mine running. I’ve found that disconnecting from power and plugging back in fixes things. Haven’t bothered to troubleshoot beyond that.

About once every 2 weeks, I run into a situation where the pi drops off the wifi (the router does not show it connected). It recovers if I disconnect/reconnect the power (don't really have any other choice).

However, if you are able do a proper Volumio shutdown or restart, you should do that instead of just pulling the plug. @Michael Kelly says Volumio can become corrupted if it doesn't have a chance to flush its memory cache to the file system.

yeah this is usually the situation. Can’t access Volumio via the app or web UI, so have to unplug/plug. Good to know about Volumio’s memory cache.

I had a lot of issues with volumio, but I've been using moOde for the last 15+ months with no issues.

I'm also using BubbleUPnP on my phone to control it so that I don't have to mess with the tiny web UI.

@Michael Kelly any news on the next batch to ship out? I sent an email over a week ago no response.

You can use a remote SSH app to restart the pi via command line. I use Lemon SSH on Android.

I emailed Michael on a recent order myself and he said they just finished a large batch and need to go through test and packing. So hopefully we will all get ours soon.

Sorry about that, that is my fault since I am the one who answers the emails. It must’ve come on top of some others and somehow I thought I answered you, again my apologies.

All orders placed before the end of July are shipping in the next couple days. The rest of the orders in hand will ship early next week.

Roopiee has a "restart and check for updates daily/weekly" schedule you can set up.

    Maybe others have that too?

It's really handy, I've got it setup for 13.00 when Roon does its DB backups and it also solves the usual issues with WiFi dropping after a week or two.

But it can only work if the pi is connected. The case we've been discussing is where the pi drops its WiFi connection and the router no longer sees the device.

When it drops from the WiFi, I'd like to try connecting through an Ethernet cable and check if it responds. This may indicate whether something happened only with its WiFi or if the system had crashed. I'd have to get a long enough Ethernet cable to reach from my router to the pi.

Occasionally (maybe once a week), I'll be streaming an album from Qobuz and a track begins to play at double speed. The stream should be 44.1 but my DAC says it is 88.2 and it is playing twice as fast as it should (or it could be a 96 stream being played at 192). It's weird hearing classical music at 2x speed in high fidelity, and at first I'm thinking, "They're taking this at a really fast tempo!" before I realize what's happening. It usually recovers if I switch to a different album or track and come back to the same track, and then it plays fine.

However, tonight everything began playing at double speed. Switching tracks, clearing the queue, and rebooting did not help. Even the startup tone became a short blip and my DAC said it played at 88.2 — therefore it was a problem on the card and not with Volumio. I finally fixed it with a full shutdown and unplugging/replugging the power cable.

Has anybody else experienced playback speed problems?

Never. i2s, AES, S/PDIF coax. 3 different DACs (Yggdrasil, Morpheus, dac1541). Two separate Pi2AES streamers. Standard Meanwell SMPSs. all good. Ropieee(XL) on one, mooOde on the other.

Funny story, maybe obliquely relevant to your issue: when I was running a HiFiBerry Digi+ (single clock version), I once accidentally told Volumio to use the Digi+ Pro driver. This resulted in everything playing c. 10% too fast. I guess this was because the Pro software is set up for two clocks, but seeing only one, passed my 44.1k files straight to it without mentioning they needed resampling to correct for the 44.1/48k difference.

Have you recently updated Volumio? What DAC emulation are you using? If Allo, try HifiBerry Digi+ Pro and vice-versa. @Qstik mentioned a couple of pages back that a recent Volumio update wasn't playing nice with Digi+ Pro (fixed on a later update, but you never know...).

Thanks, I'm on the latest Volumio with Allo emulation. I'll try Digi+ Pro and see if it happens again. However, days or even weeks would pass between occurrences and it may be hard to pinpoint the cause.

@Michael Kelly, is the startup chime passed through Volumio?

The PI2AES has no "startup chime" that I'm aware of. I'm running piCorePlayer.
