Copenhagen - options are sand or valve, but both are supposed to output the same sound :)

hi @dsavitsk , as the T4 is no longer is production, can u shed some light what's the arrangement in the output of T4 that only require 2 capacitor? I'm planing on building a diy version of T3 with Cinemag CM-15615PC. I'm wondering if the new topology of T4 can apply with that opt so i can invest in better output capacitors?
    Thanks!

It has to do with how the transformers are made. The Cinemags cannot be used the way the T4 is done which is part of why we moved away from them.

Friendly yearly bump to enquire about any possible movement on a new design. If not, carry on living life!

No new design, but I have several "STEALTH" Torpedoes available on Beezar Audio, among a few other things.

I'm calling them "STEALTH" because these were all scarcely used prototypes that sat in storage for years. I recently cased them up in new Context Engineering black anodized cases without any labels of any kind - hence, "STEALTH.:

One is the very first production prototype Torpedo 1, another is a singularly unique Torpedo 1B with a toroid power transformer and Mundorf EVO Al-Oil caps. A third is the second only T2 ever built (first one was sold years ago). Finally, the very first ever T3 prototype is also available. It doesn't have the final CCS board tweaks that developed during the production run, but still has the DSHA circuitry and holographic soundstage. Like the rest, it sat as an uncased, fully functioning populated PCB in a cabinet within Beezar air-conditioned office space all this time.

I still have hundreds of 6J6 and compatible tubes, so for the T1 and T1B which uses those tubes, I'm including 20 pairs, along with Cryo and Telefunken E90CC tubes. I could probably be talked into including more pairs than that, even. (The T2 uses the 6922 and of course, the T3 uses the 12AT7 - never had many of either of those to go around, so only one pair per each amp.)

To be honest, I've retired and am trying to clean out a bunch of stuff that I forgot I even had - like several Black Gate NX capacitors, anodized Al-teflon HD800 and 650 cable connectors, and a couple of Millett Hybrid Maxes, among other things.

For what it's worth to potential buyers, I vastly preferred my T3 before the CCS board, Mundorf cap, and other upgrades with both the Sennheiser HD600 and Focal Utopia. Pretty sure my original non-upgraded version had the blue Edcor output transformers and not the upgraded Cinemags as well. Wish I never did the upgrades and may have kept the amp if I didn't. It just became too aggressive for me, regardless of tubes.

Just thought I'd mention so the omission of (some of?) those tweaks in the T3 prototype available for sale doesn't dissuade someone from purchasing it, especially from a guy like Tom (who always goes above and beyond).

Congrats as well on the retirement, @TomB!

That was fast, minimax black hybrid is gone.

To add to what @zonto said, the T3 is an awesome amp for the old HD600/650, really highly recommended. Congratulations on your retiremt @TomB !
