New page of course lol. Above in reference to Joanna Newsom though I still have some hope for her music, I used to not like the way Marissa Nadler sang and now think she’s pretty great.

What a way to start the weekend. Kool live performance and the chillest harmonies on the planet. Goosebumps abound!

Great thread. Thanks for all have contributed. I have been reading through over the last week. I plan to contribute a few singers.

    Birdy.

Lzzy Hale, Taylor Momsen, Maria Brink together. All three worth checking out separately.

Elizaveta (I could listen to her voice for a very long time)

Since early 2K I have not heard a voice like hers. Ashanti has this happy and effortless tone. Sure R&B from this age is very cheesy but damn I really like her voice.

I don't know why Spotify thinks to throw stuff like this at me sometimes. But I appreciate it. Pretty far away from anything I really listen to or track on there. I think I just confuse it so much that the only things left are obscure things that aren't even near my radar. She has an amazing voice though! Very very clean, but so expressive with all of the sliding, dynamic vibrato, and subtle rasp/fry. Really impressive control of vibrato - transitioning in and out of near dead flat delivery seamlessly. I like how she can cut it down to one bounce where when she wants to emphasize a beat in the melody she'll shoot not quite whole step past the pitch of the note before quickly returning down to hold the actual note dead flat. There's a bounce and a sway to her whole delivery that's just really nice.

Just a very delicate and wholesome sound. But also very powerful when it needs to be. The wider jumps in pitch really lend itself to all of that stuff she's doing. When the layering comes in it's sublime to me. It's like she's a Disney princess, but more somber/epic and even more melodramatic. It gets a little ridiculous for me, but the performance is so good I couldn't skip it. The melodies and harmonies are really pleasant.

And I'm okay with that. But how did it know I would like this when I wouldn't even have known? I remember because I was working at the exact moment when it came out of my discover weekly, so I didn't register this random thing I was hearing until it started ramping up and I snapped-in like "Well damn, okay! I guess..." Fair play, Spotify. Though I still remember all of the times I was burned by the exact same thing, just furious for the 10-15 seconds I had to get through before I could grab my phone and make it stop. Why can't I just yell "NO." into the mic of my portapros to make Spotify mark it down as such and move on?

My favorite Dolly Parton song -- it's beautiful & she sings it to pieces:

I've been listening to more of it... it's just hypnotizing, like finding magic in a bottle somewhere remote, out in the steppes.

I figured out why it popped up. They're on Kscope, and I listen to a lot of artists that are or were with that label. Lots of WMBB in rotation. Which I guess does fit here. Mostly Dan Tompkins (who has the voice of an angel,) but it's really Jordan Bethany's vocals that make it for me. I wish she was more involved in some songs. She's the one who really sells it.

Totally forgot this one. The whole album is full of great vocals from Jordan. She's awesome.

@Lasollor was looking for a cover of Sugarman... IDK if this was it, bit I really dig this singer's voice:
