FOUND: BAL to SE Transformer Converter

I am in need of a transformer-based balanced XLR to single-ended RCA converter and figured I would see if any folks around here have the hookup. I would DIY one based on the fantastic resources here, but I am useless with a soldering iron.

I am hoping to use it to convert the BAL output on my Yggdrasil A2 so I can assess my incoming Sugden A21SE (and other future SE only integrated amps I know I will be auditioning soon) without having to keep with the Freya+ in the chain for conversion. Freya+ buffer mode seems pretty dang neutral to me, but I figured it best to do critical assessment without it.

Any chance someone has a setup they are no longer using and willing to part with, or open to a DIY commission? Let me know, thanks!

 

I believe you are supposed to use a resistor somewhere in the circuit. But to get it connected, you need not use solder:

Not exactly the parts I purchased in 2018, but look for the screw terminal adapter in the search list of the first link. You'll see a few different options for the XLR part. Same site has RCA connectors too. Second link is transformer.

 

A half decent DI box will give you a bunch of conversions for whateverwhichway.

@shotgunshane @jexby please close this thread, I ended up just buying a Yggdrasil LIM instead of messing with this solution for my SE woes.
