FS: BW1 and Bottlehead Mainline with upgraded caps

Selling my BW1 2-chassis amp purchased here from @jexby back in 2016. I paid $1180 shipped for the amp plus a Jensen PC-2XR ISOMAX transformer.

Selling for $1000 (including transformer) shipped to CONUS via UPS, friends only at this time.

I consider the ISOMAX to be necessary because without it there is noise that comes through when no music is playing, though it's not really noticeable when listening. I'm sure I could track down and eliminate the cause of the noise, but the Jensen works a treat so I haven't bothered. I'd say appearance is 8/10 since it's used though I couldn't find any flaws on it.

I purchased it for $950 shipped and am selling it for $800 shipped CONUS and also friends only at this time. This was my favorite amp for a long time (yes, even more than BW1), even after I sold my HD800. It sounds wonderful, and I love that you can flip between 2 sources on the fly for A/Bing. Condition is probably 7.5-8/10. ***SOLD***

I tend to stay with amps for awhile but it's time to turn these loose and let someone else enjoy them. I have a new (to me) amp I'll probably hold on to for a few years or maybe forever.

Edit: I would 100% welcome trade options for a pair of PSVane Acme globe 2a3 tubes or a pair of ZMF Auteur.

 

The only silver marker I see is on the 120V designation (on power supply), the amp and power supply are both un-numbered. I thought I remembered it was an early-enough version (red bottom plate) that there were maybe 10 or so of them like this? I may be way off base, as it's been years since I've researched this. Happy to snap some pics and share them! Hope you're doing well, man.

 

I talked to craig when he was initially closing shop, and he said he only ever sold around 10 black widow ones in total, so these amps are incredibly rare! $1000 with the external power supply and transformers is an amazing price, these should go super fast. Craig also mentioned that not a single BW1 needed to come in for a repair, whereas ~10 BW2s ended up needing repairs -- so BW1 seems more reliable too.

Good luck with the sale, I really hope another SBAF friend picks this up so this rare and amazing amp continues to stay within the community.

Update 12/15 Mainline is gone, BW1 w/ Jensen still available.

 

Bumpity bump. BW1 still available, and still a hell of a good amp!

 

Decided to hang onto BW at least until SW51+ arrives, and maybe longer. @shotgunshane @jexby please close this thread and thank you for being awesome!
