Bought this amp very recently from a friend, he got it straight from EC in 2014. After listening to it for a while I've decided I'm just happier with the lower end gear.

The amp is clean and in good condition there are 4 small scratches on the edges of the front chassis, not huge but cosmetic nonetheless. Looks like PO tried to sharpie in two of the spots so I used flash to better capture.

Tubes included are two pairs of 445 tubes, RCA's and Tung Sol, Pair of WE5842 (417A) with adapters, pair 6d22s in the power supply. All tubes seem to be quiet and without issue.

3 single ended inputs, 1/4" and 4 pin balanced out, speaker taps also for high efficiency speakers, about 3 watts iirc.

Input 1 was upgraded with WBT RCA's, pricey jacks.

I believe this amp does not have a cap coupled output, rather it is transformer coupled and these transformers have greater influence on the sound than tubes or caps. It was of the generation of EC amps just before the studio and AF and was a counterpart to the 2a3mkiv for those that remember. You can find mention these were a cut above the Balancing Act but I can't prove it.

This amp does not have a warm and bassy sound of of a traditional tube amp, it is lean but very textured in the bass depth. I can't stand midbass bloat and this amp certainly helps in that regard. It does have the amazing soundstaging and imaging capability like many EC amps tend to have. I think it also prefers high impedance cans like hd800, 650, and planars like the Audezes. Also supposedly better to pair it with r2r dacs.

Asking 2500 net to me, will cover fedex to you if you are a friend/contributor. Original shipping boxes are included

I may consider trades for cheaper amps + cash but forewarning that I am pretty picky on these types of things. Honestly if I could get a Balancing Act or clean Super 7 I would totally go for it.

Hi Mr Sneis, I am assuming it is a unit with US voltage (120V), correct?
