FS: Focal Utopia

Okay so my Utopia's are not getting much use. They are the most dynamic, clear HP I own, but to be honest with any potential buyers, they are also too treble leaning for my ears. If this is a HP you want, here is the deal -

$2600 firm - The Utopias, original box, and cable, PLUS a Moon Audio Silver Dragon Balanced cable (was $400). I got the Utopia during the $3000 sale, so not a big loss if I can find a buyer.

If interested let me know and we can work out details, etc.

 

Maybe a copper cable instead of silver on a "lean" sounding headphone? The Utopia sounds pretty good to me on a good copper cable (and a good tube amp).

 

Fully agreed on the copper part. It serves Utopias rather well, takes the edge off.

 

I've had these HPS for almost a full year now. What they do well they do extremely well, and at times I've gotten much enjoyment out of them (tube amp definitely recommended), but ... I keep going back to my less clear, but sweeter sounding planars for longer listening sessions.

So if anyone is interested, I definitely want you to be aware of the CONs as well as the PROs. No point in buying something you won't be happy with.

p.s. Perhaps the copper cable suggestion would help. The Mood Audio Silver Dragon is extremely well made though, and included.

 

I would love to hear it on a ZDS. I'm sure someone here will make that happen...
