[FS] HD800 S/Trade for HD650 + $

Yes I just got these, yes they sound really good, but I have decided I would rather have the money in my pocket than the improvement over my previous HD650. I don't have that much time to use headphones, and want to put more toward speakers, and life in general.

Problems: No box, no balanced cable, smell a bit like smoke, but not too much anymore. Only notice it if I smell the headphones directly.

Ask for any more pics.

$900, or I trade for your HD650/6XX/580 plus cash of some amount.

 

Update: I have looked a bit more, and seen that my price may be a bit high. I am going to lower it to $800 OBO, or trade for HD650/6XX + $600

 

Didn’t you pay HD650 + $400? Think you’re capped at that amount here. Could probably net more on Audiogon or US Audio Mart if you’re looking to flip.

 

Ok, that is fair, I am just wondering where the line is drawn?

I mean, before I bought a box of ~400 vacuum tubes for $25, and I sold them for more than that here, and no one seemed to have a problem, as I was still offering a good deal here.
I had to take the risk and meet up with some sketchy guy on craigslist to buy these.

But if you say I shouldn't sell them here for any more than I bought them, I completely understand. I really would like to offer that deal here, but I also don't want my whole buying HD800 S ordeal to be in vain.

 

Toss in some extra toys you're not using to offset the extra cost? I'm not against the idea of people making back what they spent on what's essentially a demo, and wanting to profit is fine too (full disclosure, I planned to earn some lunch money selling off the Klipsches locally if thought I'd not be able to live with em), just that I think people around the site expect others to cut them good deals even if it takes a chunk outta you, "Friends" and all.

FWIW I'd maybe bite but shipping and handling would kill me, lol. Good luck dude!

I see the points everyone are making, and I got a bit greedy. I just have to keep my priorities straight, which isn't always easy. I hope to do the right thing here.

With that, I am taking them back down to $400 plus HD650/6XX. What I bought them for. Passing on the deal to a friend.

I am sorry that I got greedy, I hope to not do this again in the future. It is something I need to work on.

 

That's a good deal for a 800S. This college dude maybe deserves some pocket money for being such a relentless dumpster diver. But I agree you can get way more selling on headfi, eBay or audiomart/gon

Well I care, especially since the HD650 were gifted to me.

HD800 S sale is pending now for the same price I bought them for.

Also to try and make up for this, and give back to the community, my SPS DAC3 is now listed for free.
