I originally bought this to connect my Gungnir to my Nintendo switch, which worked well enough, but I sold my switch awhile ago and this has just been sitting. This thing allows you to pull out full bit rate from hdmi, very handy when trying to get the full signal from a dvd/sacd player to dac. I have one but managed to pick up a modded player that does this natively. Very handy gadget.. dB
