[FS:] Sansui AU-G77XII Class AB Integrated amplifier (USA) SOLD

    ---------------------------------------------------------------

With a heavy heart, its finally time to give up this beast. It is a very large and very powerful amplifier with enormous amber VU meters and represents the very first iteration of Sansui's legendary "X-Balanced" amplifier topology. Differential output stage with about 110W of Class AB muscle into 8 ohms. (Class A until current/temperature limits are reached, then class B for the rest of its headroom; should be at least 40W of pure class A. Don't quote me on that, I'm guessing.)

The transformer in this thing is literally the size of my own head and it weighs about 30 pounds despite its light chassis design. The volume control is extremely smooth with no noise or scratching and only a very slight imbalance at the very bottom of its output -- and the integrated balance control makes this a nonissue.

This amp's headphone jack connects directly to its outputs via a pair of resistors, allowing it to handle planar magnetics, an SRD-7, or speakers quite well, with a very smooth and resolving signature (if a tad warm of neutral.) Condition is very good, with a few light scratches and scuffs. The only real issue is the rear feet, which like to fall off due to a combination of cheap plastic moulding and a few too many relocations. Oof.

I would much rather keep this -- having wanted it for a very long time and because it has 5 switchable inputs which makes it really nice for my setup -- but it is just simply way too fuckin big for my 90 sq. feet of living space. My intentions were to service this amplifier, but time is running out and I need money for Christmas.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------

I am asking $250 shipped for this amplifier in its current state, OR:

I will ask for $350 shipped and upfront payment as well as a month or so of time to fully service this amplifier with new capacitors, a thorough internal cleaning, and a rebias on the transistors.

Additional pictures will be supplied on the buyer's request.

    Cheers!

Sadly it would only join the 8 other amps I have justified for my speaker project :).
