Selling a like new, Schiit Bifrost 4490 DAC. I am having trouble seeing any signs of wear.

Included in sale is the DAC, a 6' power cord, and a generic USB cable.

Thread title is a little confusing; should be just "Bifrost 4490", no Uber or 2nd generation.

Hey, thanks all... sorry, I accidentally stuck the price in for my Schiit Stack that I'm going to be selling. Thanks for the catch and also for making me realize exactly how these upgrades are laid out. I bought it from a friend who said they paid for the upgrade.

I'm literally sitting in a pile of Schiit and cables so I do really appreciate it.

I don't know if my amp pairs well with any of the Schiit DACs so far so I either will get another amp for my office setup or find a different DAC.

    Hi @L1C4,

I hope this doesn't come across the wrong way, but I think you'll have more success selling items here by reading through previous sale threads and observing how the marketplace works for a little while. This thread in particular offers some valuable insight into the community's general approach to the marketplace and item pricing.

You've listed a lot of items for sale this week, but you joined SBAF two weeks ago and we're not sure who you are yet. Personally, I'd like to get to know you first before purchasing items from you so that I can get a sense of who it is that my money's going to.

No harm taken. I haven't bought any of the newer headphones until recently starting with the PM1. I know that the headphones and stuff I don't like tend to be of a specific sound signature. However, I do think that there are just as many people if not more who prefer the opposite kind of sound so I find quickly what works and what doesn't.

Can tell you quite easily my top 3 favorite headphones, however I am sure the Utopia's will screw up the list shortly and probably the HEK as well. I like accurate and very detailed sound and am willing to sacrifice bass for good clarity at the high end. My 3 favorite headphones to date are AKG K1000, HE6, and HD800. I personally think the sound changes quite a bit with your setup so I think that there is often a disconnect with what people hear since everyone has a different setup, listening environment, etc. I power most of my headphones through speaker tap adapter cables because their low efficiency just doesn't seem to get overcome without a lot of juice. With a good set of monoblocks, line filtering, and DAC, one can often curb whatever the common criticism is to an extent. Hence, I'm fairly brand loyal to some of the more traditional manufacturers but do appreciate when somebody hits the mark with a product like the Ether C or HEK.

I don't listen to IEMs other than for Etymotic but it is an interesting space that I think I will begin to explore more now that I've lowered my noise floor and gotten different amps that perform well with low impedance IEMs.

The other area I find interesting right now are DACs and power supplies as things are always changing. Reading Hydra's galvanized isolation reference document really showed how technical it is getting and how some manufacturers are beginning to achieve the desired output of utilizing a LPS or signal cleaner through advanced designs leveraging FGPA, isolators, and effective power management.

I am curious in everything I do so I will not hesitate to try something I think I might not like if people I respect are buzzing about it. Everyone has the right to an opinion and if you have an issue, I will do my best to minimize interaction.

I don't post a lot because I give out most of my advise or thoughts in person or through email as I work for a company with thousands of people onsite. I also read a lot of sites as I feel each one has its own area that they really do well in and like to look at differing opinions. I would say I routinely check out CA, Head Fi, Audiocircle, AvS, Audio Karma, and here obviously. I think Marvey does a great job and think that there is a unique group of people here versus some of the other sites that tend to have one type of person.

I also like talking to people in the industry from time to time but mainly because they're stand up people. Doc, Todd, Jan, PB, etc. all have interesting and diverse commentary about audio but they are consistent in their passion for the industry.

Anyways, no offense taken. There are much worse things that are going on in the world than having someone question your participation in a niche, fun hobby.

    Take care,
    C
