I had some Canare 4S6 laying around, so ordered a Neutrik NP3X-B plug and thought what the hell.

The conductors in the stock cable are so tiny it's comical. I could swear it sounds better after the upgrade and that it opened up a bit, but I could always just be hallucinating. Definitely looks better.

Some notes for those who might to do the same:
-Be careful when prying up the retaining ring to remove the driver. Really easy to slip. I went in half an inch or so to the side of the centering tab on the top of the ring
-The terminal with the black sharpie on the driver is the positive.
-The tip of TRS plugs is the left channel, I got this backwards but it only really matters for the color of the cable I guess.
-I used a fat zip tie and hot glue around the heat shrink on the entry into the cups, I think it'll work pretty well retention wise but I think the entry on the left cup will look better with some JB weld or something that dries black/dark gray, have to see if I can find something better that will work.
-You have enough free space on the inside of the cup to work in a mini XLR jack, Hifiman-style 2.5mm or maybe even 3.5mm jack if you wanted to. I figure if i ever go balanced with these I could just reterminate the cable.

Otherwise it's pretty straight forward. Fun project.

Might want to fix up that image link.

Yep, the stock wires are bloody thin.
