Same here. I considered a Vette, or I would really like a Cayman, but neither would be ideal for me as a single vehicle, I'd need to have something else, probably a truck, and that adds even more expense for maintenance, insurance, etc.

For now I'm good with a sport sedan with space for 4 passengers, or loaded up with golf clubs or boxes of network equipment for work, or filled with gear for car camping. Put snow tires on it for the winter and it is a blast to drive year round too. Don't think I would want to drive a Vette in the winter......

    Call me Mr Practical LOL.

When I win the lottery ima have a McLaren. Maybe tonight's draw! :headbang:

Well I got the Hemi all put back together. Unfortunately she won't start. Engine sounds fine and tries to start but stumbles and stalls. Checked codes, got P0123 and P0222, both have to do with the throttle body. Realized the throttle body is making one hell of a racket when I turn the key to on. Confirmed that all wiring to the throttle body is in good shape. Checked and rechecked all wiring and vacuum lines, etc and everything is fine. I'm having it towed to the chrysler dealership tomorrow so they can initiate a re-learn on the ECM for the throttle body and possibly replace it if it got fucked by moving it 10 ft still attached to the intake. Pretty frustrated at this point but it's out of my hands.

I just paid off my 2015 Honda Fit LX. One of the most boring Hondas on the market, but damn getting 40 MPG is great.

Excellent city car and hatchback, more than enough to take you to point A to point B. I really like that I can remove the rear seats completely so I can haul crap in it. This feature alone saved my butt multiple times at Ikea. The best part is I got it for a deal back in Jan 2015. Gas was cheaper, it was the end of the month, and no one was buying hatchbacks since AMERICA SUVs/TRUCKs FOR LIFE. Got mine out of the door with new tags for $18.3k. All auto, no sunroof (which is fine with me, they do leak in time).

Blue M6 is me, but some really nice cars. Nice rolls, AMG GT, and a Bentley off to the right.

Now, if only the baccarat tables are good to me tonight.

Should have fucking stayed home. I hate that casino, they don't even give free drinks. I ordered a rum and diet coke, paid for it, plus I was up at the time so I dropped a ten spot for a tip for the cocktail waitress. Poor girl, she was so grateful for a nice tip, the way she made it sound, it was the best tip she ever received. I wouldn't doubt it with some of the people that live here. There are definitely some very seedy individuals at casinos in general, but this one seems to be worse than normal. I was done in literally 40 minutes. Not my best night. Do instead of throwing more cash on the table, I left. Not the most of ever lost, and sadly, not even the quickest I've ever lost. I was frustrated and was down to my last $400 of my $1500 in chips, bet player, and of course I lost. Did something similar last time I went. I was so frustrated then too. The pit boss was trying to tell me to slow down, but I wasn't having it that night. Fortunately, I placed a nice bet, $2000, and won. Started throwing it back, so smartly that night I left. If I won my $400 bet tonight, I would have doubled down and left after that, win, lose or draw. My partner is still there playing blackjack. Hoping he wins, and he does win quite often, and always breaks me off with some of his winnings. He's bad though, he plays 2-3 hands at once, bets the odd side bets too. A few years back he won $75k in a few hours in Atlantic City. He goes on streaks. He's been on a good one now for a few months. Won $15k last time we went too.

Car in shop. Been giving me drive train malfunction, going into limp mode. Misfiring, need new plugs, and something with the fuel system too. Plus, major oil leak. Fortunately, under warranty aftermarket. Zero deductible. Fixing a few other things too. Hopefully won't be long...damn BMW's.

Man... The Jag i-Pace is a really nice looking car in real life.
Too bad Tesla is still alot more refined and more efficient.

The most efficient car is the car that looks the best to you.

Around here 50% of the cars are Teslas, so an iPace would be awesome.

    Sure.

But Tesla also has the best warranty on batteries and drive.

It annoys me that Jag dident just go all out and put an even bigger battery in it.

I got my car back today and it's finally running perfectly. It has been a fucking nightmare the last 10 weeks dealing with this and honestly one of the most stressful things Iv'e ever dealt with in my life. Unfortunately it was mainly my own fault.

See my previous posts on this thread to catch up to this part. I'll preface this by saying that the service writer at the dealership I took my car to was a complete fucking moron. He would go entire weeks without calling me with an update after telling me that they "should have it done in a few days" etc.

I took my car to the dealership on August 21st. After the dealership had my car for over a week without calling me they finally called and said I had 2 bent pushrods on the drivers side and that was why it wouldn't start. Possibly damaged lifters as well. I told them to proceed with pulling the head off and replacing the pushrods and possibly lifters.

After another 3 days with no updates and failure to return my calls (I gave them 2 days before calling for an update, even though they said they would call me by the end of that day) I drove to the dealership in my cousin Mark's car to find out in person wtf was going on, because I didn't want to be away from home any longer (it had already been almost 3 weeks since I left). I get there and they tell me that some parts are on back-order and they are waiting for them to come in before starting work. I drive back to Marks house and tell him what they told me. Mark works for Mopar Performance from home, so he has access to internal systems like Dealer Connect, etc. He looked up all the major parts that could be causing a hold-up and found that the lifters had been superseded and were no longer being produced. The new lifters wouldn't be available for production vehicles until Dec 2018, and Feb 2019 for public resale. No dealership in Michigan would give up the lifters, claiming they had to save them for Police Chargers. Long story short I ended up having to order the superseded lifters myself from an Ebay store run by a dealership in California. The estimated delivery date was September 6th, a week away. At this point I decided to get a rental car and go home to Indiana because I was incredibly homesick. I had the lifters delivered to my parents house in Sterling Heights, and my mother agreed to take the lifters to the dealership once they came in.

The lifters were taken to the dealership on Sept 7th. They didn't call me with an update until Sept 17th. They said they had the car back together and running but it was misfiring on multiple cylinders. They said it drove fine under light load but under heavy load it would break up badly. I told them to figure out what was wrong and then call me back.

They finally called me back on Sept 25th to tell me that they had checked everything electrical and it was all good, but my heads were bad. I asked them if they did a compression test and they said no. I told them to do a compression test and tell me the results before they go pulling my heads back off the car. Anyone who knows about engines knows the first thing you check if you suspect a bad head is a compression test, but these idiots claimed it wouldn't tell them anything they didn't already know. I asked them if it was currently drive-able, they said yes, so I told them to stop touching it and I would see them in 2 days.

I got a rental car and drove to Detroit. I picked up the car and it ran like absolute shit, misfiring constantly at idle. I drove it to Marks house and it did fine around 50 MPH without too much fuss. The next morning I drove it back to Indianapolis. It was very scary and I almost got crushed by semi's multiple times merging from freeway to freeway because it took 1-2 minutes to get from 50 to 65 MPH without making the engine shake like a dryer full of cinder blocks.

After I got it back to Indy I did some research on shops and mostly tried not to think about the car because it was so stressful. We went on vacation for our anniversary which was a nice stress relief.

I took my car to a shop on Oct 17th. They called me the same day with an update. They called me the next day and told me the results of the compression test and every single cylinder was losing pressure, ranging from 16-40%. My head guy fucked up the valve job. The heads had to come off again. I told them while they had the heads off to put in the rest of my new lifters (I ordered a full set). The shop called me yesterday and told me it was done, running perfect. No bent valves or any other issues, it was just a bad valve job.

Tonight I get to call a long-time friend of mine and try to get him to reimburse me for the valve job, and possibly more, since I wouldn't have had to take it to the second shop at all if the heads were good.

TLDR: I wanted to get a preemptive valve job, ended up putting in pushrods wrong during reassembly, got a horrible service writer at the dealership, drove it 350+ miles with every cylinder misfiring, took it to another shop that was actually legit, the original valve job was fucked, got good service, and it all could have been avoided if I wasn't a paranoid asshole.

One upside is with the new lifters the notorious Hemi tick is completely gone, and now this old girl should run forever.

I get about 22 on the freeway and about 16 around town. I just love the sound and feel of a wide open V8 too much.

Mopar is revealing a new engine tomorrow and the teaser was pretty epic. 426 Hemi "Elephant" crate engine coming? 700+ HP naturally aspirated? We'll find out tomorrow.

I get around high 16s to 18 ish if Im really nice to it. If Im on the highway a lit it will see 20. For a 5k+ pound pickup with twin turbos that I can't keep my foot out of that pretty decent if you ask me.

    Old chargers make me moist...

Nothing absolutely nothing wrong with that. Car seats in the back would be a challenge and that's the only reason I wouldn't consider one.

Holy moly. This is definitely the more proper approach for the Hellcat instead of the blower. We're not taking "small" block anymore.

Maybe next year or the year after that for the Challenger. And Charger a year later (seems to be their pattern). I'll have to upgrade to the Hellcat when that happens. Hoping they don't change the styling to Euro and stay along the lines of what they've had for the past 8 years.

I chose Scat-Pack because I never felt totally comfortable with the supercharger. I like being able to run the shit gas without worrying about the head gaskets blowing off. The gas in California is also extra shitty, our best has is 91 octane and contains anti-smog power robbing additives. Also, I wanted to get used to the power. It was scary at first; but after I learned restraint, and when it's appropriate for WOT, I realized the truth of the adage: there is no such thing as too much power. My kids still get a rush, but I don't anymore.

I still don't know how the hell the reviewers in the magazines get those "decent" 25 MPG figures on the highway. I get the feeling everytime I get some open road and mash the pedal for a few seconds, I just poured a gallon of gas into the motor.

The "Peak Oil" stuff is BS. Looks like my government conspiracy friends were right in the 00s.

797 hp? That is a lot.
I am happy with my 2012 Impreza 148hp with an average of 29mpg.
