Or go Range Rover because the Brits keep nailing that cars styling while still keeping them capable.

I had a Range Rover in Australia when I lived there. Loved the look. Loved the drive. That thing could go anywhere! The only problem was problems. While it never let me down on the road or in the outback, I've never had a car/truck that needed so much care. It was always in the shop for something.

I hope they've improved on their quality because they are brilliant rigs to drive.

They haven't. The Range Rover, and pretty much all Land Rovers, have always been much better to look at than own. The Land Cruiser on the other hand may be ugly, but it always works.

Here's a cool 'concept' from Toyota called the S-FR, yes not the FR-S, S-FR. It looks ready to roll onto a showroom floor with all the details in these 'concept' images. Slated to be cheaper than the GT86 by a good margin. No word on engine, but supposed to be at least a 6MT and RWD and as light as safety testing allows. I like it a lot despite some glaring styling issues. Learning the strange interior would take time, but I like the ideas.

People say it harkens back to the Sports 800 (1960s), but I see more 2000GT than the 800.

Photoshopped to white looks a hell of a lot better, IMO.

I looove how the Evoque looks as well as the Discovery Sport but they are expensive down here in the island as well as difficult to maintain...

Very possibly will get this one on Monday:

So the SFR is the spiritual successor to the MR2 Spyder. It will be produced at least in the JDM. It will weigh just under 2200 lbs, use a tuned Corolla 1.5l putting out 130hp and 109lb/f, and have double wishbone suspension like the old Hondas everyone loved. Not yet known if it will be sold outside of Japan, but is expected to be the equivalent of $10,000 cheaper than a base MX-5. If it comes to the US, people are expecting $18,000-20,000, similar to the Fiesta ST.

Where did you find that info?

Not sure how the SFR could follow on from the Spyder/MR-S since it's an FMR layout rather than RMR.

The .pdf press release didn't mention any MR2 lineage.

Koenigsegg already has a P1 killer, but that radical is pretty cool too :p

I mean, the light, low powered, simple Toyota sports car, not necessarily the same engine placement.

    Fair enough.

As an MR2 owner I remain hopeful for a genuine successor.

New Civic is looking great. EX-T model is 174hp/162lb ft, 6.8 sec to 60, 31/42/35 city/hwy/comb mpg, and $22k

Solid review of the top trim Touring as well as the LX 6 speed being driven -

Nice looking Civic, wonder if the LX got rid of that choppy ride of the few years ago model. He seems to think it is smoother, but calls the Accord soft and floaty. Wonder if he has driven the new gen 2013+ accord. I would not call it soft or floaty

He is referring to the latest Accord, which I would agree is a little floaty.

5 speed auto unfortunately... Couldn't find the MT for a decent price/mileage.
