    Hey Guys,

I know a lot of, or some of, this community is from southern California. I'm heading to L.A. this weekend, and wondered if there is anything I should be trying to check out? I know the Source AV is supposed to be a great place to go audition stuff. It looks like it might be a place I would be able to get to, but I have no clue what traffic is like in LA (apart from supposedly crazy.) Is there anything else I should be trying to check out headphone wise?

I definitely don't want to do the hardcore tourist thing. I'm staying with my best friend who I haven't seen for a year and a half, so the focus is hanging out really. I'm not really sure how the whole weekend will work out, but a short detour or two for headphone stuff would be pretty cool.

Any ideas would be cool! Thanks guys!

The drive along the PCH through Malibu and down to Santa Monica is something to see. Santa Monica near the water at night might be my choice of where to go for dinner and drinks. Venice Beach is right next to Santa Monica and a very cool area to walk around. We were downtown this past weekend and the 'LA Live' area near the Staples Center was pretty hopping. West Hollywood has some famous stuff but there's a lot of traffic getting in and out. Driving around Beverly Hills/Rodeo Drive is kind of cool.

I second the drive along PCH. As somebody who grew up in SoCal (including five years spent living on the west side of LA), the coast and mountains around Malibu are the area that I miss the most.

If you were out by the Schiitr, you wouldn't be to far from Topanga Canyon that runs down towards Malibu. Cool drive, maybe 90 minutes gets you from the Schiitr through the Canyon, up to Malibu and back over to Santa Monica. Just check the Shiitr's hours ahead of time, they aren't open some weekdays.

    ^ This.

I used to ride my bike along Topanga Canyon Road. It's a fun road that captures the essence of the Santa Monica Mountains.

Shelley's Stereo is another great shop over in Woodland Hills. While there, drive thru Topanga Canyon Rd as Bill mentioned.

If you make your way to the Schittr, you'll be close-ish to Vasquez Rocks as well as Castaic and Pyramid lake .

If you are coming by the weekend, shouldn't be too bad traffic wise to come by The Source AV, shortest trip during the week is going on Saturday. Weekdays can be fine between 10am-2pm but before or after is pretty bad traffic wise. Probably wouldn't be able to make it to the Schittr and The Source AV in same day just given the distance, some maybe Saturday come by tsav and Sunday the Schittr.
