Post new releases that are good. Sound quality doesn't matter, we're talking good music here. Help us keep in touch with new albums and new artists to appease the headphone Gods!

Questhate, I'm hoping you'll be active in this thread. [IMG]

Please post the album cover, along with at least a couple sentences about why it's good, or what kind of music it is, or an "if you like X band, you'll probably like this" sort of thing. You can link to some youtube samples if you want.

The new Chesky is incredibly well recorded and good jazz tunes....Primal Scream. This is more of a modern/free jazz recording for the most part. Not usually my favorite but I liked this one quite a bit.

I downloaded Aayushi Karnik - Troublemaker album - if you like Ricky Lee Jonesesque blues, you will love this - excellent recording too - you get a headphone mastering, a speaker mastering and the DSD files - use the hifiman code to knock off a few more dollars . Chesky's "wall of sound" free jazz did not hold much appeal even at this low cost

OK - I liked the single Chesky track on the sampler and downloaded the album - it is worth a listen ;)

Yeah, the speaker mix on the sampler was interesting. Can't tell if I like it or not. I'll try the headphone mix at some point.

Thanks for the reminder this project was kicking off today. I was interested in hearing it after the Guttenberg interview the other day about it.

Can't say I am a huge fan off the bat of the Meta-Dimensional sound thing. Only tried the speaker mix with my nearfield setup so far, will try headphones and on my living room system before I pass final judgment. At first, it struck me as having the same sort of quality as a really nice AAA vinyl pressing on a good rig where there is a space/realness/transparency to the recording that gets lots in digital sometimes. Over the course of the album though I found it kind of fatigued me as it felt like there was a bit of artificial sheen to it, or maybe it was just too transparent. It certainly was very revealing, and I like how precise the imaging is. Unfortunately, I was really not jiving with Aayushi Karnik's vocals, they were clearly being presented in a 100% transparent way, but I didn't enjoy how she sounded. Will give this all another go as I do think it is an interesting concept/project.
