    Hello from Toronto
I am new to the thread but have had to follow it every day since Tyl pointed it out.
I have huge respect for this thread. I found your pursuit of this mod wonderfully exciting and inspiring.
I saw the order list but can't remember where
Please add me to the list. I am very happy to pay and donate to the cause.
Please inform me if there is a better way to make this request.

Mod recieved and installed today. Certainly feels a bit more "professional" than the cut off shure tips I had in there before. Thanks SD!

@fierce_freak https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachme...6/151426127389392897/HD800_liner_cutout_4.pdf and when you insert it make sure that there's an extra piece of liner you cutout to fit exactly on top of the trapezoid.

Here's how this looks: http://i.imgur.com/PP7zEuC.jpg. Side by side with the SBAF absorber: http://i.imgur.com/oI2InsM.jpg.

Back on topic, @sorrodje this is really devilishly good my friend. This added a particular level of clarity I'm really enjoying mate. Salut ! I'll post my impressions when I've done another comparison with the HD800S. I still felt the HD800S feels more dampened I wonder now how it fairs against the SD in a direct comparison. |\/|

Eagerly awaiting mine, but at #59, I may have to wait a few more weeks!

I only have the mod descrtibed on Tyll's site (Creatology trapezoid). It will be interesting to see if the SD mod sounds better in addition to or instead of the trapezoid.

What are people's impression so far: SD add on to other mods, or replacing some?

Obviously I will be drawing my own conclusions...

Of course the other way to tame the HD800 harshness is with a Cavalli Liquid Gold, that I just heard at CanJam.

    $3999 anyone?

Can someone with Sorrodje's resonator mod please check for sibilance in "A moment lost" by "Enya", this is my test track to check for sibilance? This track should tell you how well the mod is working. The track is on her "Amarantive" Album!

    Thanks for the help1

Still Sibilant but I don' know what could fix that . So much reverb and such overprocessed voice can't be fixed IMO . I definitely hear sibilances but not to the point I feel the urge to stop the music ASAP. Hope that makes sense for you.

    HD800 with SD mod only.

I tried the song on my system and wasn't particularly bothered by the sibilance. The song is very heavily processed though, lots of reverb and processing just like SD already pointed out. So you're never going to get rid of the sibilance completely, it's just what it sounds like.

If you want to try a really challenging song when it comes to sibilance try "depeche mode - walking in my shoes". The song is supposed to sound dark and foreboding but on a stock unmodded, un-eq'ed, ss-driven HD800 it's a bright sibilance hell. Would make an excellent torture device.

My system (SD mod + some tubes + eq) plays it about as well as any transparent high-end system can. It's still more sibilance than I'd like but again, it's on the recording so no way to get rid of it completely unless you remaster the crap out of it.

@sorrodje, @TwoEars.....thanks for doing that. Then I guess the genre's, music I listen to, don't have sibilance. That track is where I notice it with any of my headphones, although I don't even hear that on any other tracks on that album, looks like I am golden with my setup1

    Thanks again!

    @sorrodje

Congrats, you get the first treatment with the new SBAF exclusive content logo. Let me know how to treat your handle/forum name and we'll add it too.

And in case any of you are wondering, Marv and I decided that we have high quality content on the site that deserves better typography and design considerations for title posts.

    wow nice. :)

Sincerely I absolutely don't know what to ask for my nickname. Maybe we could just not use it and let the generic logo . My 2 cents.

So i have been listening for a couple of days now and i must commend you on your work @sorrodje! The highs are so smooth and grain free. I can listen for hours without fatigue which is quite a change.

This is how the HD800 should've been from the start!
