I may not have been clear enough when I asked if the HD800 (non S) in the measurements above was stock.

Yeah, that was a stock HD800 - a measurement from a while back. I will have a stock HD800 coming in.

FWIW, I retook V2 measurements for @MrTeaRex's HD800S because I was concerned. Been more busy lately (or too many late nights drinking with friends), so I haven't been as careful.

HD6XX pads on top of HD800 pads on HD800S. V2 flat plate coupler.

I tried it on the HD800 With SDR. It's a bit peakier in the highs compared to your HD800s measurements, plus I got a peak around 12 kHz. In addition I have removed the black metal protection mesh behind the driver. I block 2 or 3 of the driver vents, which flattens out the bass.
I think this clearly shows, how much pads matter. You can massively change a headphone's FR, for the better or the worse.
Anyway, thanks a lot, Marv, for taking the time. Really appreciate it.

FR measurements tell only a very specific and small part of the story, don't get your hopes up.

You can just put the HD6X0 pads on the stock pads and test out the sound by trying to wear the headphones just like that, using the pressure of the headphone on your head to hold the HD6X0 pads in place. If you like the sound, you can think of permanently glueing the HD6X0 pads on the stock pads. I did just that with an extra pair of HD800 pads I had lying around.

Has anyone done measurements with the sheepskin pads? So far I have found measurements for hybrid, fenestrated, and velour.
