I haven't read the whole paper yet, but the statistical analysis is one-and two-way ANOVA. Incredibly simple and appropriate analyses for comparing two small groups. P-values are very low. Why would SPSS be a problem here?

Mainly cos I don't trust people to click correctly all the time. I've seen too many careless mistakes in traceable analyses to trust untraceable ones. Maybe when they finally release their data...

Well crap, I have had persistent tinnitus for almost 2 weeks now. Started during CV19 recovery. I'm hoping this is not a permanent 'gift'.

OK, so a few weeks later and it's sticking around. The GP sees nothing out of the ordinary so the audiologist is next. What sucks is it is killing listening to music for me. I try, and it just ends up being so irritating I watch TV or do something else.

I listen mostly to 2 channel, but I do find it is less irritating with headphones, something about the spatiality of having a high pitched whine in my head and the audio plane in front of me versus having both in my head (so to speak).

Maybe this will improve, but more and more it seems like something I may have to learn to forgive and live with.

That sucks big time. I certainly hope it diminishes over time and eventually completely disappears. A quick search for any connection between C19 and tinnitus proved inconclusive.

Yes, this is per my GP that they are seeing correlation, but causality is another matter. Which may bode less well if this has developed 'naturally' as that seems to be a one-way ticket by the general look of it. Anyway, audiologist next week, we'll see what path I need to chase up then.

Add another data point to the correlation, my tinnitus got worse after COVID went through my house.

It makes sense. The virus does seem to primarily attack epithelial/endothelial layers as well as vasculature-rich tissues, and the cochlea is both of these things.

I have tinnitus in my right eardrum, but the most annoying part is that my eardrum is retracted and not flexible, making it hard to breathe through my nose.

I got to the hearing doctor twice, but he said everything is working fine which I really don’t get.

My hearing is adequate enough, but the breathing problem is anything but fine. It’s made me depressed.

Well the verdict is in, there is damage so this pretty much a part of life now. I may see some respite but not likely. So I'll focus on headphones and see how my head adjusts to the whine over time. There are supplements that could help but we'll see...BioArmor has been recommended...anyone tried it?

Very sorry to hear it. It seems that tinnitus management is a thing, to lower its impact. All the best.
