    I used stock cables on both the original 560 and V2's. Setup used: Foobar2000 (FLAC) -> Singxer SU-1 -> Yggdrasil (v1) -> Jotunheim (v1.1)

    It feels like they've smoothed out the overall sound signature on the v2. The low end has certainly been reduced, with mid bass and sub bass noticeably less than the originals. The midrange feels slightly more flushed out on the V2's. The upper frequencies have also been pulled back, especially in quantity. The v2 is certainly not as bright as the originals.

    Overall I preferred the originals on most everything I listened to, but some people might enjoy this new laid back tuning. I'll spend some more time with them on the weekend with a different setup.

    Do the V2s use the same pads as the original 560?

    Do you think they're 4xx/400i drivers?

    I'd have to check (I've got both those as well), but when I compared both 560/560v2 they looked identical. Magnet assembly, diaphragm, everything looked the same.

    Any chance you could compare the 4xx or 400i sound to the v2? I was just curious to see if hifiman was just dumping those drivers as 560s.

    Well, this is disappointing. I guess I'll sell mine for a profit and get some 4XX's if they're not as good as the V1...

    Edit: and if the headband problem isn't just a flaw on yours... Well, I won't be keeping them, that's for surr!

    How is the strap attached inside the headband? Could it be that it just isn't free to stretch as intended, or that it has several holes to attach with depending on intended length? Could be that it's set up for the asian market.

    Second edit: could the reduced bass be because of the clamp, or just because you can't get them to sit right?

    Third edit: could it be the seal between earpads and cups leaking air pressure?

    The headband suspension system is just like the Sundara's, it attaches to a slot on the inside of the headband directly behind the HiFiman logo. Doesn't appear to be able to be adjusted, although I haven't opened them up to see.

    I was actually able to get them to seat just fine after moving the headband/strap closer to my forehead. Still the originals are much more comfortable. I'm pretty sure it has nothing to do with the clamp/seal unfortunately.

    I was told the headband is adjustable by simply stretching it really hard uowards until it starts moving. Try it, let me know if it works!

    I wonder if the cup material and/or the fit of the new band is what's causing the difference. At least they're the same driver.

    It's visually the same driver, but that just tells us it's the same design type. Membrane thickness and magnet strength could be different and we wouldn't see it. I don't know which other cans use the 560 branch of driver designs, but there is a family tree out there.

    Can someone directly compare Sundara and V2 clamp?

    Sigh, mine came in today with a busted right driver. I thought it might be the cable at first but not the case. HFM QC issues still afoot it seems.
