Or just type red.local into your web browser. Worked for me.

Comparing to the Pi2AES I've been using for a long time, now, it’s a touch more resolving/focused/articulate while also being smoother. I'm going to keep it though the Pi2AES is no slouch. This is just some extra refinement.

Pretty high praise considering the Pi2AES is just about universally liked, already.

Yeah, the jump going from a chain with no streamer solution to a Pi2AES is the real MVP, here. Pi2AES to Red is just a luxury.

Tested Mercury V1 (owned) - Silent angels Munich Ht (owned) - PiAES (owned) Holo Audio Red (loaned)
You may consider Ifi neo stream as well.
Worked out of the box. :
Optical Lan (Optibox) with reclocked Ethernet * , DLNA exclusive Mode, integrated NAA , perfect DSD (512x) over direct I2S , *excellent Sound Quality . Perfect with my Holo Audio Spring 3 KTE (I2S - Alt2).
Ifi should release a version without DAC for 800 $ .....and bingo. Game over .
    Best

Hmm I just realized I haven't noticed any high frequency-related fatigue on problem tracks that might eventually creep in after a long day since the Red settled in. So minor, but nice.

Is there anyone else with a Holo Red and a Schiit Unison USB input that can confirm functionality? It seems the Unison USB is not locking the signal from the Holo Red properly. I have no issues with my Holo Spring USB input from the Red. Optical and coax SPDIF work fine from Red into the Schiit Bifrost 2/64. So, it’s just Unison USB that has the issue.

    - Qobuz UPnP Stream
    - 16/44.1 OK with Schiit Unison USB
    - 24/44.1 Instant loud static only
    - 24/96 Music will play but high frequency, high volume, clocks and pops can be heard throughout the track at varying intervals.
    - I can hear the relays clicking in the Bifrost on new sample rate change

It's a shame Pi2AES can't be bought new any more.

Earlier on one of these threads you mentioned using a USB dongle for an external wi-fi connection on the Pi2AES. The idea being to get more distance between the wi-fi antenna and the noisy RPi board environment. It's probably too late in the Pi2AES 2.0 development process, but would it be possible to add a U.FL socket on the Pi2AES 2.0 to allow an external wi-fi antenna to be configured without going through USB? I'm guessing the answer will be no because antenna are fussy about ground planes and such.

I do see people hacking their RPi's to add a U.FL socket on the board to allow for a stronger signal. I don't really know but assume that a USB dongle would be slower and noisier than a U.FL solution. My home layout makes a wired connection, like the Holo Red, very undesirable because the internet entrance into the house, the music server (Pi2AES), and my best sounding audio (Pi2AES) are in different locations in the house.

The Wi-Fi does not come from the Pi2aes. It comes from the raspberry pi. There’s nothing our board can do.

Anyone know any possibility to mount an internal NVME drive for music storage like the Mercury. The Red looks much more polished and hoping I can mount an internal SSD drive. Trying to replace my Nativ Vita

This is not possible with the Red.

I've reached out to Kitsune and they felt the USB is their better sounding output on the Holo Audio Red but I wanted to use the AES output to the Yggdrasil. Would you guys agree with this or does it still sound great out of the AES?

    Thanks

I keep going back and forth between USB or AES to Yiggy A2. Recently I've decided I still prefer AES but it is very close and would be system dependent. Try each and find out which you prefer.

Tim likes USB and thinks it’s the best transmission form for digital audio. And you should remember that he will be answering in reference to his DACs which have probably by all accounts a better USB implementation than Schitt. So take that into account when he says USB is the best.
