(pardon me if this thread is in the wrong place)

HI all, so I recently started building a desktop risk and all of a sudden now I have more gear than desk space. Instead of spending $20-$30 for a decent headphone stand, my cheap ass told me that it'd be better to get something like this hanging rack like this instead. Ideally, I'd stumble upon something similar to this but can attach to the side of my desk (screw on grip perhaps), or underneath it. If anyone has ever heard of something along those lines, it'd be great if you can pass me the knowledge.

And of course, would love to hear about (or better, see) everyone's "storage system" as well!

    EDIT:

I did some more research and found these to fit the bill as well:

Adhesive, stick under your table (so only good for flat surfaces) https://www.amazon.com/BRAINWAVZ-Tr...hy-20&linkId=4645e21b1da5de9d4582e0201d905f2c

Did you try asking in the all advice thread? Maybe it was the best place. If so, @ultrabike ou another mod will correct. I store mine in a controlled room and all headphone stay in a ômega stand. Those in the picture will degrade the headband

Hey David, I did not put this in the advice thread since I was hoping it to be a standalone topic where people would chime in about their personal "setup"...

Regarding the headband issue, would that be because since the headphone is left in a "hanging", instead of "resting" state, the weight of the headphones would just pull on your headband?

IMO all those options should work well. It's up to you and your setup in terms of what would fit and look best in your particular situation.

Thats ok friend. Indeed, i have several headphones, and used to store them in those hangs. the sennheiser hd800 headband wore in the pressure spot.
Had a audeze, and had no problem at all with them. I think you have to observe. but for expensive headphone, i don't trust those hangers... or maybe i'm just neurotic LOL

did you see those ones? they are soft and IMHO better for ergonomics

Thank you for the suggestions, they're all very nice stands for the money. However, for now I'm not planning to use stands since I prefer something that would look more "uniform". If they make those hooks as a long rack, that'd be ideal for me.

For the Anchor mount, I dont like it because the two slots on there are closed to each other and thus I can only effectively use it as a spot for one.

Anyway, my 3 headphones are wouldnt that sensitive to weight pulling I'm assuming (please correct me on this)
#1: Bill modded HD580: very light?
#2: HE5LE: tight fit, with metal headbans that should held up well?
#3: AT W10vtg: headband is very tight too so it can use some loosening as well. However, I'm a bit worried about those wooden cup so if I were to buy one stand, it would be for this one.

I normally just out headphones and table too but my (VERY BIG) table already had quite a bit before I got my audio gear in, let alone now so I gotta get hooks or something like that. I also dont have shelf or much any storage typed furniture since I move quite a bit often.

I like the Woo Audio Universal headphone stand. Weighs four pounds and exceptionally well made, worth the $79 on Amazon.

I prefer options with a curved top that roughly matches a headband curve. So pegs or banana hooks make me cringe. I don't dents forming on the foam of a headband. I love the Sennheiser HH10, but it looks like it is no longer being made. What better for my HD650's than something made by Sennheiser? Nice arc, padded, can mount to a desk or a shelf. Here is a knockoff: https://www.amazon.com/Auray-Headph...coding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=V57PRF1ZQE4FVHRT28SR
And apparently Panagea makes one too: https://www.amazon.com/Pangea-Audio...coding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=CKN5YSYYRKVDE48S3M13

I use a Sennheiser HH10 for my HD650s and the Brainwavz Hengja for my HE4XX. I also have The Anchor that's linked above on the underside of a shelf to hang lighter cans like my px100-ii.

haha nice, like @Outerspace Wasabi i also keep all of mine in a box thing that fits into one of the squares of the kallax shelf where i keep records and stuff. what doesn't kill them makes them stronger right!? except when i had the code-x i kept it in a padded box that then went into the ikea box cause they're pampered babies made of wood that cracks.

What is the preference for not-currently-used 'phones? Boxed or unboxed? Sealed or unsealed?

These are the best holders short of the Omega and its knock-offs; depending on your use case / setup, these are arguably better than the Omega types. Curved, padded top for even weight distribution, and VERY configurable. I have 4 of the HH10 on a shelf above my desktop setup, and even though they are not all always in use, I will never get rid of them. Glad to see someone ginned up some knock-offs after Sennheiser inexplicably stopped producing them.
