    1. People get trophies for "Liked" posts. There is a slow progression up to Almost-Made, where after we keep seeing this for about a month, and we're in a good mood, we will promote them. But only after we conduct an Internet background check. This has already happened on several occasions.
    2. Number of posts does help you get trophies... up to a certain point where it doesn't do jack anymore. We'll put hidden admin notes for people who post a lot of crap, so don't abuse the forum. While massive number of posts is a high honor on HF which lands you a mention on the HF home page, it isn't necessary the case here.
    3. If you want the privilege of listing items in the FS forum, and you can't afford the $20* to receive the privilege of listing as many items as you want in the FS forum, you probably shouldn't be playing in this hobby.
    4. We know that our FS forum is betterer in some ways. It's a privilege to be able to post there, not a right. That's why it's betterrer.
    5. The FS forum was open to everyone at one point in the past, but moronic Randos posted items and bumped up listings in such a deplorable way that we decided to restrict posting privileges to only Friends and Contributors.
*Please contact me if you have donated and not received a Friend or Contributor title.

This seems ominous since I just put up my first listing.

Maybe I missed it but where is this $20 for posting privilege? Is it just a donation?

Doesn't apply to you. It's a bunch of random people asking why they can't list their crap here.

So $20 to list, not to reply to a listing?

You can just PM, it's not like you need to post in the thread itself.

We should limit the FS forums (view and post) to only Friends and Contributors. In previous discussions, some people thought that was already the case.

I just logged out and can still view the entirety of the FS forum. I meant treat it like the Club Room.

View yes. Post, no. You've got to be a friend. At least the best of my knowledge.

Are you thinking of encouraging the limit of sales to friends too? I wouldn't be opposed to that as I almost got burnt by a member here, though I wouldn't mind it being viewed like The Club Room at all. Most sellers here have very good pricing compared to other sites.

I have always personally restricted sales to friends. I think the determination of whom to actually sell to can be managed by the seller. I think most of us are savvy enough to appreciate the risks of selling to randos if we choose; caveat venditor as well...

There aren't enough people with friend status to support all the stuff that goes up for sale here. Sometimes only people without friend status are interested. I say let them keep seeing the sales, it will encourage them to stick around and become friends (since many sales are friend preferred or friend only), and hopefully post good deals if/when they do become friends.

I had a pleasant and successful transaction with another member here and I'm really thankful that I was able to do so. I'd hate to lose the ability to take part in more but I understand the Friend status protection.

Yei. Thanks. I logged in to check on Sale section directly, but stumbled on this thread.

I'd like to get access to post a thread here (have some stuff to dispose of that might be of interest, etc.), but I am getting errors trying to start a conversation with Marvey.

(I think I may have actually donated to the site, too.. lemme check.. Yes, here we go, on the 29th last month. Woo!)

Can someone assist? I shall stand forlornly by the roadside meantime..

A quick update and something I forgot to mention. Contributors should be able to post here. I would ask that Friends consider extending special purchase privileges to Contributors. Of course this is your prerogative since Friends do tend to have a longer posting history.
