I did an experiment with the Xelastic tips and they were super snug 8 hours ago (on and off use) and are already coming out more freely. Is it just me?

    Could be you or not...

Something to check though, is to clean both the tips and your ears before condemning the tips. With the tips in your ears, moisture is trapped and is absorbed by your ear wax. Things can get really slippery, especially in warmer climates.

As far as the Xelastec tips, you can pop them off and wash them with very warm/hot water, it will both clean them and reset the shape of them.

I’ve been updating my tip collection lately, so the following are new to me:

    ePro Horn tips
    https://www.eproaudios.com/
The idea is good: a horn shaped interior bore to help extension and smooth leaks, but execution is poor with ultra thin materials. These are really thin tips and only work with the shallowest of fit. Hit or miss, mostly miss fit wise. I’m doubtful these will come in handy.

    ADV Eartune Fidelity U
    https://www.adv-sound.com/collections/ear-tips/products/eartune-fidelity-u
Also a horn style opening but this time in an oval shaped tip. These tips run pretty small. Large fits like a medium to MS size. The oval shape is really comfy. Material is thick enough to seal solidly but overall not a thick tip. Due to being small, works best with deeper fit for me. Cannot stress enough that these run really small.

    Azla SednaEarfit tips: https://www.mtmtaudio.com/products/...rtips-6-sizes-for-in-ear-monitor-iem-earphone
I bought the regular black ones. These run big. Medium fits me well. They are long enough for me to use in place of dual flange tips. The black ones are pretty thick and ‘hard’. They say the “light” (read clear) ones are slightly more pliable but still on the harder side. I’ll have to try the lights next. At any rate these work really well with iems that fit too shallowly and you need a longer tip. They’ve found a home on the OG Andromeda, replacing the Mee Audio dual flange tips.

I really couldn't get the hang of these. My ear canals are similar sizes but different shapes, and trying to get these things oriented properly in both ears with different IEMs required mirror work.

They also claim to have a 4mm bore to fit earphone nozzles of 4-6mm. However, the bores are actually around 3mm wide, and in addition the stems are very short - without gaskets to lengthen them, they're fairly restricted in what IEMs they'll fit.

And yep, they're very small, and the small size is not helped by them being quite soft. If you normally fit L, you'll be out of luck with these.

    Cannot recommend.

the “light” are much softer and have a different sound too - warmer, bassier. Might be good with the og treble peak version Andromeda.

they also make “short” versions of the regular black and clear light too so there’s a ton of options. The short versions are warmer. They’re all some of my favorite tips.

I wish I didn’t have XL ear canals so I could try those horn tips.

I definitely plan on trying the regular lights. Perhaps the shorts on down the road. Open to more recs to try.

I like the looser seal of the regular blacks with the OG Andromeda. I don’t want anymore bass. For personal listening, I like to use the IEMatch on the ultra setting to further lean it out.

How could I forget: I also bought some ML JVC Spiral Dots ++. King of the tip pile. These are awesome. So soft and comfy.

I wanted to try a silver cable with Vegas to make bass even better defined and "safer" asked @rhythmdevils for advice. The advice was "buy SednaEarfit Xelastec instead".
I do not remember if anything ever made a bigger positive difference in my sound experience for less money. Of course that is very subjective and applies to a specific setup: Vega with Kann Cube but..
    First the tips:
I never use silicon tips, other than triple of double flange for deep insert. They do not stay in my ears, do not seal, basically useless for me.
Not those. The fit and comfort is the best I experienced: they stay in my ears and I almost do not feel them. . They seal very well, do not isolate that well but I do not care about this part as I use Vegas only inside.
The bore is uniformly wide so they are supposed to be lighter on bass, but it goes beyond that.

I would say that all technicalities of Vega improved: instrument separation first, FR is definitely a bit flatter and that not because they lost anything in treble. I think it comes down to way better control of bass and therefore letting midrange shine.
Both resolution and clarity improved to the level that I noticed it in first few minutes of listening
Vegas bass is a touch less extended and elevated, still more then enough, but the texture and definition has improved.

here is the example that may illustrate it well:
In early piano trios, by Haydn for example, the cello is not really a separate voice, it is being used to spice up and reinforce the piano bass line. On most recordings it is very difficult to separate instruments except with very resolving setup.
Well, Xelastec turns Vegas with Kann Cube into such a resolving setup, the trick by Mr Haydn does not work anymore, the sound of cello is very well pronounced and it creates even better effect.

Do not get me wrong I loved this setup before and Vegas are great IEMs and we are not talking day an night, that's about those last 2% that make such a tremendous difference to the crazies like... us.

@rhythmdevils I would be very interested in your take on it, if you have a chance to listen to Vegas wit Xelastec. If I ever get back to Florida I will send you my pair to try with new shiny tips of your size. Now, from Canada, it would be pain in the ass, for both of us.

I’d love to hear the Vegas at some point but more so I’m glad it worked! And you saved a heap of money on an expensive cable! I was going to say you should also try the other 2 tips I mentioned but your comments indicate they may not work. I sincerely hope you’re one of he lucky ones who’s ears don’t deform the Xelastic tips to the point that they fold over on themselves. For some people they stay round-ish and others they deform severely.

I posted a bunch of advice on reforming them in this thread about the Xelastic tips

    free to friends/contributors including shipping.

never put in my ears I could tell they were too small just from looking at them. So brand new.

Fits a nozzle about half the size of the CA iem’s. I can’t remember the dimensions. 2-3mm?

    large is probably 13mm diameter

I’d like to ship them ASAP so please step up and take them now thank you.
