as (mostly) commonly known, I don't own multiple full sized headphones.
thus, only (rarely) plugged in ZMF Blackwood Auteur with the xDSD, and found it average IIRC.
not offensive but certainly not lively nor striking to make me keep xDSD for mobile (?) use of Auteur.

to me, the xDSD is a great portable device with Bluetooth or USB (with iPad / computer desktop) optimal for IEMs.
maybe good / average with a few sensitive full sized cans.

being fortunate enough to have sampled almost all of the iFi line, generally agree with their product lines:
xDSD : best for IEMs, not enough juice except for some sensitive full sized headphones
xCan : amp only, more power than micro BL but haven't heard it
micro BL : best with IEMs, can be good with some sensitive full sized cans
micro iDSD Signature: best all rounder. great for IEMs and great with many more full-sized cans
Diablo : best for full sized cans of all power requirements. IEMatch almost mandatory for any IEMs.
Neo iDSD : good with sensitive full sized cans only
Pro iDSD / iCan : good (could be great) with a wider range of IEMs and full sized cans
Zen line : have not heard

btw, it's mind boggling how every Spec sheet on the iFi web page lists different spec parameters (volts, ohms, load, Power Max, Power continuous) in different orders across these products. it's no wonder regular consumers can't figure out (intentional?) where to split hairs when trying to decide on a purchase.....
