July 15 - People's CanJam Pasadena - Event Info!!

As long as they bring a power strip or an extension chord, I'm O.K.

 

Not to beat a dead horse but since we're less than 1 week away, please remember to:

Well, it looks like the gods are conspiring against me making it down to Southern Cal for this event. I won't know for sure for a couple of days....

I am posting this because I said previously that I would be there.

 

I'll start the donations with $50. Also will bring extension chords and power strips. Hoping to see some good audio friends in a week.

Ok, we have 2 meeting rooms booked at the Marriott Courtyard in Old Town Pasadena!

This should be an exciting meet, with riff-raff like Eddie Current and the new Aficionado, DNA tube amps, and maybe new secret stuff from Schiit. There will be Utopias, possibly n3rdling clones, multiple Code-X and more of Luis' headphones, Alex's PMx2, Bill's Andromeda mods and HD580/HD800 mods, etc etc.

All are welcome. We're friendly folks. I go for the people, the gear is a bonus. This is a great chance to hear a lot of excellent audio gear that's discussed frequently on here and on other sites ahem cough cough. Great to expand horizons, get new frames of reference, and talk to people with tons of experience.

I am considering taking my Andromedas for listening purposes. If someone wants to test them out while I'm there have your own tips, and source. I'll likely keep it to Friends or people I recognize but we'll see.

i was also told that there's event parking available for $7 for the day. this isn't too bad, especially since downtown pasadena is notorious for limited metered stops, and then you're stuck dealing with a meter. there are meters around the area though, for those that want to stop by for a little while.

Bill and I will also have Andromedas and ZX2s at the meet, probably others too. So lots of opportunity to hear them.

 

Yeah, I'll bring AK120 along too if anyone wants to try something smaller/more portable than ZX2.

Ttime: 9 am setup to 6-ish pm closing time (can be extended if needed)

Parking: event parking available for $7 for the day. if you want to come by for just a little while, there are meters around downtown pasadena.

Food Info: i was also told that there's a restaurant at the hotel that will be open for lunch. the marriott courtyard is also really close to downtown so there will be food options close by.

 

Meters are a pain. Much better to use the city parking lots. I think they're still $6 all day. There is one between Colorado and Green on De Lacey that's about 4 blocks away (that I use all the time) but this map looks like there is also a city lot right next to the location as well. Indeed, it's called the "Marriott Garage" (but make sure to use the public parking entrance and not Marriott itself).

I will bring Woo Audio WA8 Eclipse, Hifiman HE 1000 v.2, Fostex TH 900, Astell & Kern AK 120 II, and Astell & Kern AK 240 (Red Wine modified). As a showing of community spirit, I will also bring an extension cord (or two) and donate $50.

 

Oh sounds awesome, I can come and bring some stuff and try to snag some cords/power strips. Got some big ones but they are off in the Valley and not sure if I will have the time before to grab em.
