    Hello!

As I understand, Audeze have done some changes to its whole line except the EL-8T and Sine.
On Head-Fi many say it sounds better, more airy/open. But have anyone here heard the latest manufactured Audeze's?
I'm asking cause im curious as I used to own LCD-2, X and 3F and had a soft spot for Audeze.

I own a pair made in April this year. They don't sound dark or closed in like the 2.2 or 2.1. Bass extension is back to being linear all the way down. They don't have that horrible peaky treble of the first batch of fazor. They have some slight lushness to vocals but overall I'd say it's quite natural sounding unlike the LCD-X I tried which was too lean for me and slightly grainy. Upper mids still have that dip.

Not sure about the rest. But i definitely liked the LCD 4's. Previously, i could never stand the Audeze sound.

    Biggest concern should be reliability.

Hmmm, two points from my local dealer:

    - unless Audeze fix their QC and reliability, he's not going to carry anything higher than LCD2
    - Audeze is constantly making minor tweaks of sonics

Heard the 200hm version about 5 times now and find it to be dull as shit to be honest.

Unfortunately, for the sake of the industry, it's as real as this ad on page 88:

Someone please call that number and ask how much it costs to get the updated drivers.

On topic, the LCD-3F 2016 I heard had a grainy peak at 10khz, weird mids, and a midrange compression issue. Same old Audeze

Why not? Working from home today, so gave them a ring and spoke with a helpful sales rep.

    • Asked about LCD-X revisions that I saw in a Stereophile ad
    • Rep told me Audeze haven't updated the drivers since January
    • Gave the version # from the ad to confirm
    • Rep wrote down the number, looked at his computer, then put me on hold
    • Rep came back and said that the ad was a spoof/joke like how Apple constantly changes their iOS version numbers
    • Rep confirmed the most recent update was reducing diaphragm thickness, which was meant to increase consistency left-to-right
    • We had a laugh about how I probably wouldn't be the only one calling about this
That's eight minutes I'll never get back.

    That's a really bad spoof.
