With multiple gain settings (which output different voltage levels), the GOV2, particularly the Infinity version can output at the same level as a regular DAC.

In the end, the GOV2 was meant to be a portable DAC/amp combo to drive headphones. Even taking that into account, it can act as a better DAC than anything else in its price range, and go toe to toe with DACs costing even double. Try not to get hung up on the dedicated line out part of the equation.

Hope I am helping. There are more technically inclined folks on these boards that could probably do a better job than I did digging into it.

I think it will come back available in a bit once they clear out the backlog. It is in production now and there is a huge queue. Apparently mine will ship once the Stream backers are taken care of. No real idea when that will actually happen.

Funny how the LH Labs forums seems to be frozen in time. No new post in 2016.

And it seems that they have moved on towards soundbars?! Didn't know you need femto clocks in soundbars...

My GOv2+Infinity in new casing just arrived tonight!
A big improvement although it is NOT all metal. More like metal face and back plates.
Gives the unit a good amount of weight and no longer feels plastique at all.

Will get battery charged over night and test it tomorrow...

AWESOME! Do you have a regular V2 to compare?

Nope. Never had a regular GOV2 or GOV2Inf. Only the prototype cased GOV2+Infinity.
But a local LH rep may assist soon,
Really want to plug GOV2Inf directly into a Regen and then to iPad for the smallest bestest bedside unit evah?

I'm trying to wrap my head around all these GOv2 out there. Hoping you us can help me out since I'm a dumb dumb.

One thing I'm wondering is, are the regular v2 gain settings good for senn hd650 and orthos, or would the infinity version be better with the middle gain option for the hd650s?

The second thing is, in light of @jexby point above about plugging a regen into a v2, would that only work for the "+" version or would the regs v2 also plug into regen?

    1. The middle gain would largely go un needed, so you'd be fine with 2 gain settings on the V2.

    2. Look at the Regen. Look at the V2. Look at the V2+ (which has no male USB ports).
Only the V2 could plug into the Regen female USB.

Siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigh. Just got the GOV2+ in. Pulled it out to test it before sending it out to the Friend that bought it from me, and lo and behold:
That is 3 out of 4 products from LHLabs that has come defective out of the box. The panel pops up. Feels like it was glued on, as I can push it down and it sticks, but pops up after a couple seconds. Sounds great, though! They know how to make good sound, just not good products. What was the point of a little bit of aluminum for durability if you are just going to glue it to the same plastic frame?). If I were keeping it, I'd just deal with it, but now I have to refund money and wait who knows how long to get a replacement. Maybe I should post in the Vendor Gripes thread now...

Yep. I'm a pro at doing it now :) I still stand by their sound engineering, and their service, even. But MAN, some of the physical design decisions and their QC still stink. I fear greatly for them when something as complex as the Wave or whatever it is called now finally gets released.

Good luck, Ravi. I truly am fascinated by their journey and really am curious how big/prevalent the manufacturing issues are and if all the blow back on the forums will amount to anything when it comes to mass market branding and success. I'm reminded a lot of some of the startups at a tech incubator I was involved with for a couple years that had geniuses for founders, but none of them were business savvy enough to even know they weren't business savvy enough. Many struggled and a couple were in the process of failing due to that ignorance, or perhaps the ego that prevented them from admitting they needed help beyond just funding.

That's a shame, but G0v2 with HD600/650 balanced is just too good sonically. I am thinking of letting my Leckerton UHA-6 MkII go for a GOv2+

Yep, that is why this is so frustrating. I really want them to succeed as a company, because their devices sound amazing for the money (the GO lines at least). But holy QC, Batman! 3 out of 4 devices from different product lines being defective is absurdly unlucky on my part.

Sounds like some real problems. The chassis for the v2+ are a new process so I think there might have been some EFF there. I might poke myself in to see what the assembly process is and if it can be optimized.

That ain't luck. I am trying to prepare myself for this by thinking about a silver lining: I will get to develop my case modding and building skills and might end up creating a custom enclosure just to deal with this circumstance.
