I had actually thought about seeing if I could get a spare Modi case to put my GOV2 into, but accessing the buttons would be tough since they are itty bitty little switches. Really wish it could remember the last settings used each time. I suppose I could just leave the Wyrd on permanently to get around this.

Not gonna lie. Its really only stories like these that are keeping me away from the GO V2 balanced w/ HD650. So much to like... but I know nothing is going to happen to a Modi/Magni stack, etc. I really wish they would just make it bigger and put it in an enclosure like the E10K, for example.

my GOV2+Infinity arrived safely and in perfect condition last week. no metal casing peel back, and the seams/edges of the case seem well melded.
    for now.
indeed tho would have loved this product to have the same aluminum casing as GOV1. to hell with the reviewers that complained about aluminum getting too hot.
you want cooler amps - avoid Class A. ha!

Same case would have been great. Hell just adds some venting holes to assuage the complainers. Oh well. Gut is telling me it was a cost decision, not a heat one.

If I had read about LH Labs more online before buying my GOV2 from Amazon, I might have chosen to go with a Schiit stack instead. As it is, I really like my GOV2 and luckily haven't had any issues with it. As others have said, the sound is fantastic for the price.

In a rare moment of impulsiveness I backed a GOV2SE. It drives HD6x0 balanced surprisingly well. The chassis is perfect (they must have used a different material/process or outsourced the 3D printing to someone else) but the gold finish appears to just be spray painted on and is uneven and flaking already. The sockets feel as though they will seperate from the PCB at any moment.

This typifies my experience with LH Labs. They are a company I hate to love. It's like they tickle your junk with one hand and then punch you in the face with the other.

Surely a man of Larrys technical expertise is embarrassed by the shit they are wrapping his PCBs in...

I would be down with that.

Oddly, the GOv2 sounds really poor with these Empire Ears Spartan IEMs. Soft and mushy. They sound great with my Pono. I assumed the GO would work really well with IEMs. Maybe I'm too used to the balanced output at this point.

Edit: Nevermind, it was a system issue. All is well now.

My balanced jack broke off somehow. I can live with the panels peeling off, but it looks like I'll have to get by with single ended output only until my support ticket gets replied to.... It's a shame that the build quality nowhere near matches the sound quality for this thing

This made for a great laugh, but is also just about the honest truth of the LH Labs deal.

I'm still waiting for the rev3 V2+ Infinity to hit the For Sale forum on head-fi so that I can give it a shot. Should do the trick for me, though with my current iBasso D42 Mamba it still eats my battery when it's on battery power... Need a battery pack to recharge my phone afterwards or its pretty much game over.

    What's your experience?

Whee! I'm on my third GOV2 and the low gain LED doesn't illuminate. This replaced another with the same issue 9 months ago (which replaced one with a chassis that wasn't glued together). Should still be under warranty. At least this one took 9 months to shit the bed rather than 9 hours like the last two.

I have the same issue, no light on low gain. Just stopped working one day. Since it doesn't seem to affect the playback, I haven't bothered to send it in to be fixed.

Any updates on these? I see the gov2 and the Infiniti model on Amazon, $299 & $499 respectively. Are the build issues sorted?

I already have a mojo, which I love, but always looking for a new toy. I recently had an ifi micro dsd on loaner, which I liked, but it's too big for what I need, and there is no way in hell I could hear a difference between that and mojo.

I have a hard time discerning differences between dacs for the most part.

Would there be a point in purchasing either of these with my terrible ears? I prefer a slightly warm signature and hard hitting bass (which I've read these have). Any advice?

from what I know and own (GOV2 and GOV2+Infinity):

    1. the GOV2 case is not changing. it will remain the 3D resin printed material.
    2. some experienced ears report not hearing any difference between GOV2 and GOV2Infinity, especially in balanced mode.

not sure if GOV2 will best the Mojo. appears to be a side grade move IMO, especially if you had a hard time discerning the ifi micro iDSD.
save your $ and look toward separate, desktop components perhaps.

I'm so frustrated with LH Labs that I'll probably sell my GOV2 assuming they ever get it back to me. I'm considering the Dragonfly Red as an alternative. Can anyone give feedback on both, particularly compared to the GOV2 unbalanced side?

Curious about the Dragonfly Red as well, I really like the small form factor.
