The data presented were acquired as follows:

    1. PrismSound dScope III, picoscope 5243B
    2. DAC unbalanced output RCA (Single Ended output)
    3. 100 Kohm load used for measurements
    4. 44.1 KHz sample rate, 24 bit depth
    5. USB input – Audioquest Forest
    6. Unbalance cable DH Labs Silver Sonic Air Matrix RCA
    7. Vaunix Lab Brick USB hub

LH Labs Pulse X Infinity powered by LH Labs Linear Power Supply.
Measurements were performed between 1 and 3 hrs of DAC power on time.
Due to time limitations only the Single Ended DAC output was measured with FTM filter selected.
Square wave measurements were made for FTM, FRM and TCM filters.

Thanks to miceblue for making the Pulse X Infinity and LPS available to measure.

Any idea why the noise modulation at the lower midrange?

I assume you are referring to the THD+N graph. If I had to venture a guess, I'd look at the Dynamic Range graph spectrum and note the spikes at 60, 120, 180, 240 ... Hz, all AC mains related.

pardon the layman question: so the graphs show that it's good?

Didn't expect it to degrade that much though especially since it has an extra LPSU. From the measurements standpoint, it's pretty flawless aside from the degradation in the lower midrange. If GO is anything to go by, this should sound fantastic.

Apologies for the slight off topic post but does anyone know if the filter implementation is the same on the GOv2? I tend to prefer linear phase so if the FRM filter is default on GOv2 I can probably skip buying the "infinity" upgrade.

Have to say I much dislike Light Harmonics marketing tactics on squeezing every last penny out of the consumer after initial purchase of the base unit was already secured. All this multitude of perks and upgrades which in some cases ends up quadrupling the original price is presented down the line while customers are anxiously waiting for a product release. Very much appreciate Atomicbob's efforts and hope that he would be willing to also measure my brand new base LH Pulse unit and help us clarify the actual value of those perks/tactics.

I've got quite a backlog of things to measure in the queue along with that pesky day job which can be demanding at times. However, if the base LH Pulse makes its way to my lab I will measure it. You should spend some time listening to it first. Note any changes you experience over time of DAC power on time.

So LHlabs lowered the MSRP? It still says $3199 on IGG.

Hmm maybe that's why I though it was more.

I'd be pissed if I was an early backer, that's a he'll of an msrp drop

    Kinda fishy

The MSRP for the XFI unit is $2400 as far as I know you can not purchase the X Infinity model unless you were a backer. Also the LPS adds at least another $600 MSRP. Listening to my X Infinity + LPS right now and I have to say it is very good. Worth MSRP? Probably not although I would never spend $3000+ (I say + because $3000 would be for the XFI + LPS and X Infinity is another step up) on a DAC regardless of sound so I'm not a good judge I guess.
