Considering how most of our headphone systems are desktop-based and we tend to sit on a chair when listening to headphones (and speakers too, for that matter) I thought maybe there should be a dedicated thread for listening chairs.

TBH I'm not satisfied with my current office chair and am considering a sleeping chair next to my desk for listening & chilling once I move to a new larger apartment. Sometimes you wanna sit back, relax, and simply enjoy the sound without trying to analyze too much. Where do you guys usually sit on while listening?

On a side note, Klutz Design, notorious for their expensive CanCans headphone stands (call me crazy but I also own one), also sells a chair called Ballerina Sweetspot dedicated for headphone listening... for $11,500. More than enough to score a Yggdrasil, Studio and HD800S and still left with plenty of cash to get laid with a decent hooker for several nights. Not sure what game they are playing but it looks like an ordinary chair as far as I could tell, nothing special. I would rather take a sleeping chair where you can actually lie down on while getting laid...

I have used the aeron but prefer the steelcase leap. They can be found on craigslist for cheap. If possible a headrest is nice for when you want to put your feet up.

I have an Aeron chair. I fractured 2 vertebrae 8 years ago and the chair has really helped my back problems. The truly unique part of the Aeron is the way the posture fit supports alignment of the pelvis. It has made a huge difference for me vs just lumbar support.

I started a thread a while back looking at good computer desk chairs if you think they can do double duty for you. Personally, I love my IKEA Poang chair in leather with the matching foot rest. Keeps the body in a nice relaxed position and the neck cushion doesn't interfere with headphones much.

Whatever is comfortable and doesn't have head support (reflections when using speakers).

I have one of the big Steelcase office chairs in my office. It has a head rest and tilts back a lot for a relaxing position (with feet on the desk ;-) Works well for occasional listening.
What I mostly use for longer relaxed listening sessions is the Le Corbusier Chaise Longue LC4. There are cheap copies from this classical chair. The ones made in Italy are very good. They don´t work so well when you are over 6 foot tall....

Damn, the Aeron Chair from Herman Miller looks like one I might buy in the future.

Wow that Eames is bloody cheap compared to what I remember it costing.

Well, that's a reproduction not a real Eames. But it's probably as comfortable

The Leap is where it's at. Can't recommend it highly enough.
