NOTE: This loaner has been merged with my modded Audeze LCD-X loaner thread.

The MSRP. of this amp is 1,000$ but Monoprice has frequent sales at 650$ or 575$ on their Ebay store or similar prices on other sites that sell their equipment like shop.com.

This amp sounds good with SE output but has more power balanced. It has both SE and balanced inputs and I can’t hear a difference between the two. I’d say it’s ok to use as an SE amp from my experience with it. But it’s better using balanced output.

Ps this demo unit has no DAC module inside but that doesn’t matter because it should only be bought as an amplifier. The DAC was a bad marketing decision by Monoprice, forced on Cavalli and not even designed by him. So this amp should be evaluated and purchased as an amplifier not an AIO. FWIW, a little bird told me that Alex Cavalli is proud of the design and sound of this amp.

Liquid Gold arrived today in a chewy box...though it was the cat food I ordered. It seemed a bit light and to my surprise it was an amp instead!

Warming up now.

 

Please add me, I’ve obtained headphones that probably mean I need the LauX.

 

Shipped the Gold X out to @Tchoupitoulas yesterday and looks like it should be delivered today!

Working on review, but it is a solid amp recommendation!

My modded LCD-X sounds great with this amp. Does anyone in this tour have any objections to receiving my modded Audeze LCD-X in addition to the LauX at the same time? I'd like to combine the two tours and show off the best of both the headphones and amp. If insurance for the headphones is a problem, I can cover it for you.

I'd love to jump in for this, especially if we're in favor of the bundled LCD-X. Based out of Maryland, so if it's going down the coast, I'd fit in after Vtory.

I think as long as the person who gets it during the upcoming holiday, Thanksgiving, just communicates what their plans are/give them some slack with shipping would be ideal. It's the Christmas time that I'm really worried about, but as long as the insurance covers everything, we should be okay!

 

I’ll just make a new LCD-X if it gets lost in the mail. I’ve been waiting too long to share these.
