You'll want to look at other models for BA improvements. This is an everyday driver earphone and it doesn't really wow in the technical sense from the mids->highs. The new DD is the star of the show, I also have the IE 600 and IE 900 which both are more coherent and possibly just as good or better bass than the Black Star, Darkstar, Bonneville. The Senn's don't have that campfire 'magic' liveliness though.

I'd think you'd probably be better off trying the Fathom for BA improvements. The Ara/Gold are pretty good all BA sets, but I believe the Fathom will be another level.

I'd like to hear the Solaris Stellar Horizon and Clara - I think they'd have the most up to tech drivers.

Thanks, ok never mind. It sounds like the Fathom is the one I'd like to hear. I heard the Ara and didn’t like it - very dry tone IMO.

@julie never mind sorry and thank you for everything you do.

They are worth listening to, don't let me change your mind - I just don't think they would fit your tastes or what you are looking for in BA's. They have a richness in the timbre that isn't too open or too closed to draw attention. The tuning & timbre make them a great all-arounder. When I'm in the right mood, I feel like all the plankton I need is presented by the Darkstar.

Of the Darkstar, Black Star, and Bonneville - the Darkstar has the most balance in all departments and probably the most technical of the three - even with the Bonny costing quite a bit more.
