I’m being offered a pair of new wireless earbuds designed by the former chief sound engineer at Sennheiser. They are supposed to have better noice cancellation - cancelling out both low and high frequency sounds - than other NC headphones on the market. and of course we could expect good SQ given his experience. But I don’t know.

    The website is here

    https://grellaudio.com/en/product/1/in-ear-headphones-tws-1-space-grey

    is there any interest?

For what it's worth, I'm mainly interested in higher end ($1000+?) headphones. Would love to try any and all of them as I have no experience other than my Diana V2 that I bought on a whim.

As long as I can use them outside shirtless/bars/cafes/workouts sign me up.

I reached out to them but never got a response. I keep the list in the first post updated with companies that say no, products that are coming soon, and products that are available now.

I may try to email them again but I try to wait a while so I'm not pestering them.

    Thanks for the loaner suggestion!

A bit off topic but I'm not sure where else to ask.

What is the etiquette for loaner gear? How long do we sample the goods for? A week? Two? Also I assume shipping is insured (tracking is obvious)?

General guidelines in the link below, but will vary item by item as specified by the gearmaster. Enjoyment time usually 5 days unless otherwise specified - often a couple more for DACs that need warmup.

Beyerdynamic has announced a Pro X line of headphones which are updates to the DT 770/880/990 series. The newer drivers have a lower impedance at 45Ω, which seems to be a trend with all manufacturers.

Anyway, Beyer is a major brand and the 770/880/990 are iconic. These deserve a tour

Yup, I would be interested in hearing some quality SBAF impressions on these. Something is telling me they probs gonna have:

    1) Peak in the treble
    2) Be low-fi
    3) Good soundstage and imaging (both better on the DT900X)
    4) Perfect bass extension on the DT700X, more midbass and less subbass extension on the DT900X.
    5) Solid build and comfort
    6) DT700X will be recommended for office use, while DT990X won't have much of a place here

That's it, I just figured them out through the Force. No, but seriously, I would like to see a loaner on these!

Every loaner thread should say how many days the loaner period is. But if its not mentioned, the default is 5 days. :)

I will have a hell of a time investing energy into trying to get a loaner Beyerdynaimc that isn't something new where there is a sign of them waking the f**k up to the realities of acoustics. Every Beyer I've heard has sounded like complete garbage. The DT880 is clean, but damn is it cold in tonally and bright as f**k. I personally think Beyer can go f**k themselves. Their best sounding headhone, the DT250 250 ohm is the one headphone they didn't build like a brick like every other one of their shitty sounding headphones. It's made of Phischer Price plastic.

But I wil try to put my feelings aside and reach out anyways since this isn't just for me. It will be painful though.

Can someone just tell me what model I should look into since I have no idea?

DT700 and DT900 "Pro X" (no DT800 Pro X was released). I was interested in them from the moment they announced them. Probs BeyerTM sounding (I don't dig it), but maybe, just maybe, these are legit. I really hope the DT700 Pro X is good, as I want a good closed back at sub 300€, with decent technicalities, low impedance, simple looks and good comfort.

Too bad you can't mod yourself a T50rp. a well modded pair slaughters the DT770. But then paying for mods makes them expensive.

As a M3X owner it is a better value/practical package than the M6 Pro, with mostly the same features as the M6 Pro. Battery life is much better on the M3X over the M6 Pro.

thank you for the impressions. I need to know if there is interest though. The M6 Pro loaner was surprisingly short.

so post if you are interested in an M3X loaner!

    I'd gladly give the M3X a whirl.

I'm not sure if anyone else is interested but there are a couple of other DAPs that might be worth considering: the Cayin N3 Pro (are the tubes just a gimmick?) and the AK SR25 mk II (the claimed 20-hour battery life makes this potentially appealing).

Edit: sorry, I meant to thank you for taking the time and going to the trouble to line up these loaner tours, it's greatly appreciated
