Loaner: AAW Black Swan phono pre-amp

@BarryT is on a roll and wants to offer us a loaner of his Black Swan phono pre-amp

Please reply to this thread with your location if interested. the Black Swan supports both MM and MC cartridges with a large variety of connectivity and loading/gain options.

additionally, the Black Swan is a fully balanced design just like the Black Amp.

there is a switch on the front so the pre-amp can be used balanced or un-balanced either way

I can grab it from tommytakis. I'm running a AT33PTG/II lo-output MC and will compare to SPL Phonos.

 

After all the positive feedback on the amp, I'm interested. I'm glad both MM and MC are supported. Location CA (SF Bay Area).

received from @famish99 but it seems the right channel is not working. I know it's not my setup because the ifi zen phono and other loaner phono I have in the house right now plays both channels fine. I've tried both rca inputs but same issue.

@BarryT lmk what I should do

 

Ok @famish99 suggested that I smack the chassis hard couple times, and WTF it worked!

Arrived. As @tommytakis mentioned the right channel output isn't working. I'd rather not smack it, @BarryT I think this should go back to you for repair. I'll also call if Barry doesn't reply to this thread in a day or two.

If it helps with diagnosing, I'm using a MC cartridge.

 

k4rstar made arrangements and I will ship this back to Barry by Friday at the latest. Once it is repaired the loaner will resume with me. I did some listening with a couple mono records and I liked what I heard despite my budget setup. More details in the proper thread once I get it back from repair.

 

UPDATE: Barry called and left a message with the correction. Shipped today.

UPS says the address I was given is invalid, called and left a message for Barry yesterday. Shipping this may be delayed, depends on when I get a valid address.
