    Update: the iFi xDSD may be hand delivered to @Elnrik as early as July 1.

    a slight delay until July 8 may occur due to a couple factors:
    1. awaiting word on possible arrival of two iFi OTG USB cables to include with xDSD tour.
    2. may be testing an Eitr SPDIF feed into xDSD soon, as the USB input of xDSD does not include iPureifier or reclocking.

    More news upon handoff.

    this loaner tour has started: @Elnrik has the iFi xDSD in official box/packaging.

    Note: since this unit is battery operated, please be kind and do a full charge the night before shipping it to the next person in line.
    This will ensure the xDSD arrives with some power to be used upon opening.

    Everyone, please post here when the xDSD is shipped out and received.
    and please remain prompt to the loaner time period agreements.

    I have the xDSD! Artasia was very prompt in his shipping. Unfortunately FedEx and my building did not get along so there were numerous attempts at delivery tying up a few days.
    Anyhow, this sounds surprisingly good! Really enjoying it. Can't get it to work with PC or Mac though, just bluetooth with phone. I actually have a good amount of DSD and hi-res content I want to try it out with. Any tips, lemme know. I took a look at the brief manual.

    This is on it's way to the next person.

    I think something is wrong with this DAC, however. This has very high noise floor. My iPhone has a significantly lower noise floor. Most of my listening was in the magenta and cyan range; I could still hear the noise floor with my music.

    I could never get it to sound right either, it felt like there was some DSP being applied... the sound was exaggerated on both ends of the FR and there's a slight 3D sound going on that should not be there. This was with all the DSP lights off, and the DSP button would not change the sound when pressed, even though lights were changing.

    Also, I tried to install the drivers for the device on my computer, but my AV software does not like any of the drivers at: https://ifi-audio.com/downloads/. Cisco Talos is flagging the download as a "win.trojan.generic" threat under pattern "/^.*in10.tht.Talos/".

    interesting. IIRC there was no noise floor at all with Andromeda and iEMatch. will be interesting to get impressions from the next person.

    I don't remember high noise floor but I was not listening with IEMs. However, I could not get the drivers to work with my Windows desktop or Mac laptop with a variety of programs, a bunch of different cables, etc. I thought I was just having bad luck.
