Just packed my stuff. Bringing the 009's to hook into steve's friend's LL2T, the HE-6 (Audeze Vegan pads & back-damping removed), and the Mini-X amp for the HE-6's. If anyone has a higher-end amp and wants to hook the HE-6's up, just let me know and we'll do it! I'm curious how they'll scale.

@knerian that's an incredible list. I'm curious to compare your 007 and 009... or your 007 to my 009.

NoStream whats your stat amp, KGSShv?

Looking forward to your Mini-X amp, curious to hear how it compares against regular headphone amps for the HE-6.

I'm really excited to check out @NoStream 's KGSSHV (as i'm thinking of that being my next purchase) and someone's Stax SR-007 as I heard it's more musical than the SR-009's so it'll be interesting to A/B them IMO (If the owners will allow me to).

Not planning on bringing it as there was an electrical issue last time I brought it out to a meet. Maybe next time. Also, if you're seriously considering buying/building one, you're more than welcome to check it out in-person.

But there should be two pairs of 009s and a pair of 007.1's, and I'd very much like to do some comparisons. I remember liking the 007's quite a lot but haven't heard them in a while.

There's going to be a 007mk1 and a 007k2.5 with (I think) Spritzer blutack or half blutack mod.

Plus SRD-7, SRM-717, LL2, should be enough to compare.

I would love to hear the HE-6 on my amp. The gain is a bit low so I'm not sure how they'll do on it volume-wise, but there should be plenty of current.

Looks like a great event and I would loved to make the trip over from the city to hear the ZDS.

Does that mean you can't come or you want to be added to the list?

Guys, listen to that Singlepower Extreme and report back. That is a nice sounding amp! Unfortunate business practices from Mikhail, but wonderful sounding stuff.

I'll give it a shot. Those aren't cheap, though... More than I paid for the Holland tubes themselves.

Also, by the way, Brent Jessee says the following about 7062s. I've not yet got 75 hours on these...
"The tubes may need more break in time to relieve the metal stress in the grid causing the microphonics. Up to 75 hours is not unusual. The dampers are also a good idea."

Edit: On the other hand, I'm sure these tubes have > 75 hours since the beginning of time. :)

And about the difference between Amperex USA and Holland versions:
"The USA Amperex have a bit more focus and detail in the top end, while the Holland tubes are softer and slightly warmer sounding."
