    Very interesting!

It dawned on me today how planar drivers are essentially identical on both sides, while dynamic drivers are not, and this is part of why they respond so much to mods. The backwave really has an impact, where dynamic drivers are less prominently affected. The foam in the cup thing demonstrates this very well, because it absorbs all highs that would have reflected bsck, but it can't eat all the lows if it doesn't impede air flow. You'd expect a stuffed cup to have less bass, but planars get more bass and a softer treble.

Sold my first set - and have bought 2nd from IMackler. I am keeping this set. Treble and guitar on Lateralus is sublime. I do admit to a bit of analog eq'ing with JDS Subjective eq. Just a slight cut in mids, and a about the same slight boost to treble. With eq, I get to let my mood dictate the color of the music. I am a fan. Not a fan of digital eq - guys dig nice knobs and all that...

It's the only planar I've heard. I'm uber picky about treble - I hate smeared and compressed sounding highs. Pretty happy with tx-0 treble so far.
