There is one particular loaner thread where nothing is happening because quote " not even people have signed up ".

Is that an official SBAF policy?

If so, what is the reasoning ?

Loaners started out with just guys saying "I'll send you my HD650s to try if you'll send me your HE500s". So each headphones went to just one person and it worked fine.

Adding more than one person does not make anything better or worse (although the more people, the longer it takes before it gets back to the owner).

I'm aware of that thread. We at one point figured we'd make an arbitrary minimum, I believe the idea was that a particular loaner be "worth" managing. At least that's how I look at it. If Beavis wants to send Butthead his 650s, that's up to them and we don't need anyone like me involved, getting in touch with people or handling logistics.

I left the thread you're talking about alone for now because I thought I'd wait to see if others want to jump in too. I think we must have at least 5 now and I'll get it moving. I've been keeping an eye on it every two weeks. I'd like to see more on the list but I'll post an update and see if everyone that said they were interested are still interested. Also have to check if the guys loaning out the gear are still okay with doing it.

The loaner maximums are a different story, we try to avoid gear being out in the wild indefinitely.
