I'm cautiously optimistic about these and hope someone gets around to measuring them when convenient. I'm almost ashamed to admit that 7 months in, I still very much enjoy my modded M1060. It's this ghetto, somewhat beat up thing with wee bits of super glu stains here and there and pads haphazardly attached via double sided tape. The wood rings have even cracked in three places since this super dry winter started, but it just keeps on sounding great to me. I've often wanted to dislike these, but it has never failed to force me to like them. Its tonal balance is far from perfect, but its musicality is wayyyy up there, and its prodigious bass performance forces me to smile to this day.

I recently wanted to sell one headphone, and I sold the E-MU Teaks.

I have just today accidentally and...I have to have them, I found myself I am somehow addicted to closed-back design (that's why I still come back to my Alpha Dog, no matter what is on my table (HD6XX, DT1990Pro, Philips X2,...)), so these look absolutely perfect.

I have checked the thread on head-fi and have a few notes:
    - a new driver, 18Ohm vs. 50Ohm (of M1060), looking at specs these have even with less impedance a lower sensitivity compared to M1060,
    - nicely treated inside of the cup,
    - C has a weight to it (about 100g more than M1060), almost 590g (1,3lbs) in total, specs on the webpage seem to be incorrect.

As far as the sound goes, the word is the main domain is the sub-bass. Some suggest a bit more treble energy compared to HD650. Definitely a wide soundstage for the closed-back.

However, you guessed right, there are already 2-3 guys already reporting some noticeable channel imbalance (temporary as it seems), one of them and the description is here, but with a curious yet working solution here - some voltage drop problem with a driver itself? Hope this will be sorted out as soon as possible...

Some not 100% precise here...it does not look good at all, from that measurement it seems Monoprice has done anti-me headphones, I despise boost at 200Hz, 2kHz and 8kHz section...mhm.

This one should be out of a review by DMS guy, that 2kHz spike is craaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaazy.

First link had the individual who'd measured them claim the HD650 sounded muddier than these, so depending on their source the bass might not be all that terrible.

Having said that, 2kHz aside it's like someone took a cleaver to the FR and went to work on the treble. Not sure what curves each of them used either, but the fact that the first set has a spike at 8kHz while the latter v. HD650 actually shows a dip makes me question Monoprice's QC. Has anyone had the opportunity to compare multiple pairs of their cans?

Looks like a bad copy of the Audeze LCD-XC with a Hifiman headband.

EDIT: even the drivers are the same size (LCD-XC has 106mm drivers).

As it is a shameless rip-off, I'm sure it sounds like shit too.

No, because the M1060 made a flute sound like an insult to my mom when I listened to them, I don't even want to try this one.
By the way, is extremely clear that this is a copy, Monoprice copies everything Audeze makes, from in-ears to full size headphones, are you dumb or visually challenged?
