If input to Mutec is via Coax SPDIF, and output to Yggdrasil via AES3, will the data go through the same processing as when input to Mutec is USB?

It willl clock it internally, iirc. I hadn't done it but a few people with bnc or Coax Out from Rednet use it that way.

FWIW, my Hydra Z is less expensive that the Mutec and it outputs AES nicely for my Yggdrasil. Once I got my MAC Mini to play nice with the Z everthing clicked!

are you seriously trying to revive this dead thread?
answer: there is no USB reason to spend $ on this product anymore unless you must avoid Gen5 schiit products.

every other post of yours merely asks experienced folk to compare product A to B, and now this lazy question.
do your own homework at least once.

Thanks for the response. I was simply asking about new impressions about this product. I live in a distant city with only 18.000 -20.000 habitants in Spain. Most of the time I have to trust reviews to make a good audio choice. I’m really trying to do my homework but everybody has limitations. I understand your answer but cannot accept this kind of agression out of nowhere. As far I remember, the F IN SBAF stands for friend. Peace and light brother.

No seriously. The Mutec was FOTM, for a month. Maybe two. I think most owners sold theirs already. The Mutec flat out did not work for me. There was also new firmware which changed the sound. And others were running exotic external LPS which also changed the sound. And others ran neurotic USB chains involving Mutec + Regen or Mutec + Rednet.

Consensus with Yggdrasil A2 is do not waste your money, especially with Gen 5 or Eitr. But use Mutec if you need its functions in a studio.

hey man, I understand no ill intent.
yet repeated pattern posts of "asking but never can answer" may lead to an outburst (my me or others).
Friends are defined not as mere forum members, but because members earn trust, post wisdom.
    gain street cred.

that being said, living in a remote Spanish enclave actually sounds enticing.
hopefully it's Basque influenced and filled with cool fans of Euskaltel-Euskadi during Le Tour.

I’m try to gain street cred and your opinion lead myself to reflect about my posts in a sincerely manner. I’m really putting effort to evolve as a person. English people do interact in another manner than we Latin. You are much more direct and sometimes can be interpreted like outburst. But I do like the English blunt sincerity. we can learn from that, and you can also learn from our Latin cozy and warm hospitality. Talking about that, I didn’t had choice to live in here... I was assigned to move in here 12 years ago to take care of a mental hospital Now I really like the living. Everybody says hello to each other’s in the street. It’s a nice experience. The city is Tarifa in Andalusia region ( it means “walking with the “Light)

Coincidentally, after music, bicycle it’s another passion and I did watch Euskaltel-Euskadi in their last tour at Vuelta de España. It was beautiful. Maybe in a couple of years I will be retired and will live in Brasil. Time will decide. Nice talking to you, and thanks for the opportunity to express myself and earn some experience. David

Mutec 3+USB is still a great device for re-clocking purposes, and for that it is very good indeed. If used just for a spdif converter from USB to whatever, it is not worth the money because the USB input isn't very good. I am 100% guilty for falling for the FOTM hype.

Off-topic (potential noise): I appreciate your mention of differences between Latin vs Anglo cultures. There may be something to this, but I wouldn't dwell on it too much. jexby is jexby and not all of Anglo-America. He likes to call people out without capitalizing his words and with an affinity for run-ons, which suggests he's concerned less with proper English than with policing conventions within the site. That's his style and makes perfect sense. He's a cool guy as far as I can tell and is just loyal to his friends on this site. You're not Spain either. However, it seems evident that non-Anglo speakers tend to communicate differently on audio forums. Usually it's abrupt interruptions into threads without reading anything, which pisses some people off. I wouldn't lump you into this category at all. Regarding questions, you're certainly not as abruptly inquisitive as ThatNewGuy, who hasn't a single post which isn't a question, often unrelated to the surrounding discussion. At least he chose his avatar to be a question mark, suggesting self-awareness. To be fair, the posing of questions rather than answers may be a way of communicating humility rather than assertiveness.
