The NIN album Hesitation Marks was mastered in two versions, a standard version and an audiophile version. Has anyone here heard the audiophile version that can comment on it?

The audiophile version does sound a little better, and if you have audiophile gear and audiophile ears you'll be able to hear the difference. In that sense it is audiophile. If you're looking for the equivalent of an Audio Fidelity or Acoustic Sounds style of audiophile release you'll be very disappointed. I own both masterings.

Unfortunately, Trent Reznor can't be taken seriously on this topic.

First, he argues against the loudness war and then releases a remastered Pretty Hate Machine with a DR value of 6 (original has 13). Very sad.

    P.S. Sorry for thread necro.
