You're right, perhaps this topic deserves a separate post under general advice?

Despite how some would feel about KG, I'm adding the below because the folks at Headamp are alright:
Headamp GSX mini (supposedly warmer than the Mk2)

The ECP DSHA3F is not so good with the low impedance LCD-X. It may be that the 3F doesn't give off that much power, or that the LCD-X is annoyingly low in impedance (darn you Audeze), or more likely both.

 

Actually, there is already a thread for the best amps for orthos that I created and stickied in the amp section. the general idea I get is that SBAF doesn't know. There is a lot of knowledge about the best amps or the HE6, but very little knowledge about the best amps for Audeze's. I'm currently amp cycling with random amps trying to find the best amp for Audeze's.

Just my opinion, but I've crossed off all the amps I don't think pair well with Audeze's specifically

Bryston BHA-1
McIntosh MHA150
Mjolnir 1
ECP DSHA3F
SPL Phonitor
Various speaker amps (for hard to drives like HE-6, Sus)
Headamp GSX mk2 (although probably bad value now)
Schiit Rag 1 (People still like this amp, right? I thought Rag 2 was meh)
Ferrum Orr+Hypsos (with Sus)
OG Cavalli Liquid Gold
Monoprice LauX (with LCD-X)
Higher end Chord stuff (if you like Chord)
EC Black Widow (Commonly cited as a great amp but not sure enough power for hard to drives?)
Benchmark HPA4 (I think?)

I haven't heard this amp, but the Bakoon HPA-01 was severely bass light with Audeze's. Otherwise great.

 

Interesting you crossed this one off as Audeze themselves used a pair of BHA-1's at CanJam for the LCD-5 listening station. Personally, I actually agree with you because I wrote up a negative CanJam impression of the LCD-5 being too furious not knowing it was the BHA-1.

That's surprising, although I actually haven't heard Mjolnir 1. I should have noted I was extrapolating from Mjolnir 2, which is good with Audeze.

 

I very much dislike the BHA-1. I wrote a full review in the BHA-1 thread. I prefer the Magni 3-+.

 

I had the MJ1 and agree it didn't go well with Audeze though RD and I have very similar taste so grain of salt and all that. I disliked the BHA-1 with everything I tried, apparently it can be a polarizing amp.
