I hope my BX5's break soon so I have an excuse to get a pair for the computer.

I'm already putting penny's in the bank for the BMRs. Need to convert the pool table room into a music production room. Anyone want a pool table? It's yours...if you can take it away lol!

hah one of the most involved things I ever did was disassemble a pool table with two friends to transport in a hundai sedan with the rear seats folded down

They say the base on solid slate is really great, but it can be a bit cold sometimes...

Currently setup on the desk for now, will move them downstairs this evening for some more listening.

I've got all of an hour on these so far so not much in the way of useful impressions.

The upper mid - lower treble seems much smoother on these vs my old ARX A1b's. Not a hint of sibilance or glare. Bass extends a bit lower and is less boomy vs the A1b (though to be fair the A1b's were rear ported against a wall so eh).

Need to f**k around with positioning so no comment on imaging just yet.

Apart from the sound, these things are bloody big, heavy, and tall. Finish looks stunning in person (my shitty photos don't do them justice).

More impressions to follow over the next week or so. Feel free to post any questions and I'll try my best to respond.

Well, looks like in a year or so mine will be up for sale for cheap so I can get the Salk cabs or just go straight to the Slim's.

Trust me, it ain't usually this clean. I just wanted to make sure there was adequate space on the desk before setting up the new speakers.

Normally a port on the back? I'd like to see how the front port works out for you.

Those are beauties. Jim and Dennis create some great speakers together.

BTW, if you want to keep them looking good, wipe them down occasionally with Meguiar's Quik Detailer -- it's what Jim recommends (and what I use on my Salks).

Dennis deserves some kind of award for how patient and informative he is. The guy is literally purchasing an electronica album I like to see if the philharmonitors would work well with the sub-bass in some of my music.
