Do let me know if and when you are disposing of any speakers, just in case I am able to partake.

With the new Cornwalls I decided it was time for some rearranging. we bought a new tv stand and moved some other stuff out of the living room, and my dead LG Nano 9 was replaced by a Hisense U8H mini LED (thanks for the upgrade Best Buy lol).

Like I've said before, the couch is on the left side of the room, so my seat on the right side of the couch is centered in the room, and the tv is centered between my wife and I. It works and I don't want to block the window.

It's been awhile since I last posted, so here's a WIP setup while I fix my Fortes. Been experimenting with a double magnet Fostex in a BK16 kit, clamps are to hold one (unglued) side on while I adjust tuning and bass panels act like faux boundary loading:

Wondered why your speakers were making V signs at the listeners.

Then I zoomed in, and, ahem, read the post!

Very nice. Looking forward to the fully finished cabinets. I expect you are too!

I have no plans to finish the cabinets, these were more of an experiment to tide me over for the time being (nearly a year now...) at most I may put some linseed oil on them if I can figure out a permanent home for them once the Fortes are fixed.

Lol I know my system isn't a looker, Im a firm believer in form over function and cinderblock-fi, as well as concrete floor-fi haha but I do think it sounds pretty great. And only the finest in room treatments, aka a blanket over my tv when listening to music. It's also essentially complete.

Sonore ultraRendu into the Chord MScaler into the Chord Dave into the Coda 16.0 into my Acoustic Zen Crescendo Mk2 speakers.

hahaha the way I look at it is I spent weeks fine tuning the positioning of the speakers, what if they get moved??? The second set of lines in front is for my previous speakers that you can still see in the background, the Acoustic Zen Adagio, I really need to list those for sale, they haven't moved in like 6 months when they moved out of the way for the new ones

    It's the other way around.

Ever-so-often, the TV pulls it slightly aside and takes a peak at him.

(I shouldn't be telling this: he hasn't realised yet.)

Oh snap. I also felt like reflections from my TV were really audible. An 18" tall x 12" deep x 2" thick polyester batting on either side of the TV, perpendicular to the screen and protruding as far forward as the front of the speakers, made a big difference. Easy to remove when not listening to music. Just need to cover them in the burlap cloth I bought so they look a little less, mmm, industrial

Id love to see a pic if you're willing to post one.

A lot of people, myself included before, think the concrete floor also needs something. But I tried putting blankets down and it didn't make a difference, so Ive just left it. While putting the blanket over the tv really did help with some hash in the high end. Its also easy to take on and off when watching vs listening.

Are sound waves really much bothered by a thin bit of fabric? I suspect not. But I think that the total psychological effect, including that of not staring at a blank TV screen while listening to music, is probably worth it anyway.

So maybe go for something with lacy edges?

I'm thinking a truck stop falsa blanket would match the concrete cinderblock vibe.

This was the first iteration, I cut 2 more that are 3" taller and 2" deeper. Those I'm working on wrapping in burlap
