Just a reminder: please put FS: or For Sale: in the title of the for sale threads. New posts in this sub-forum do make it up to the home page recent posts list. A FS: prefix will allow a reader to know the nature of the post.

A few mods and I will actually come in and do these edits from time to time. This is not sustainable, and when things are not sustainable, posts in the FS threads will no longer make it to the recent posts list on the home page.

I agree that I'd prefer the prefix so I can tell if it's WTB vs FS vs FT, but what dumb dumb can't see the subforum in the recent posts list and figure it out before clicking? 0_394910000.png

Just easier to see / faster to process. I multi-task and work fast. Having to move eyes down and process two more words in less bright font takes 2.2 seconds too long for me. Keep in mind that my eyes and brain processing speed are worse now compared to when this site started a few years ago. I'm at the age now when shit rapidly starts to go south.

Also, I don't believe that FS posts should even make it to the front page considering that classifieds is not a core SBAF function. These posts originally didn't make it up, but I put those posts back up as a favor to a few people who requested it. Maybe this is reason enough to remove them from the home page. I've never felt comfortable with SBAF serving as a nexus for transactions.

We are much more stringent with our vetting process (as minimal as it is) for friends. We have to provide a marketplace as a service to our users since it is significantly safer than most I've seen given the requirements around contributing both in terms of donation and content.

Me. But I soon realise I'm in a Sale thread.

FS Blah blah keeps it neat, though. Maybe makes it easier for buying browsers to see too. Yesyes, I know: people looking specifically to buy can always go the that section.

Agreed. And no weird fuckin prefixes like “looking for” or “seeking”.

    FS:
    WTB:
    FT:

And I personally love having a FS forum here. I like the idea of owning something from a good person who I feel took care of it. I’m also banned from head-fi for being honest about shitty headphones so that leaves me with eBay.

You can remove them and whomever wants to get notification can just "watch" the whole FS forum.
