Cha Cha, Why is there a towel under your Starlet? Does it leak?

The towel is there because the feet on DNA amps tend to stick to surfaces. Not a bad thing (I'm assuming this is meant to help with coupling), but not so great on my desk shelves where it sits (it's some sort of wood and the feet will stick and peel the layers off). The towel is there so that they don't stick. Not ideal, but I also don't hear any noise.

So, does it sound better or worse with the towel? Does it slightly muffle the bass? Is the treble a bit rounded off? Sorry===could not help it.
By tomorrow, lots of our DNA owners will install the latest tuning craze----a towel.

Zana Deux gotta be one of my favorite looking amps (of course it sounds amazing, too). The aesthetics are damn near perfect. A pair of big, gorgeous tubes up front.. clean distribution of the other tubes and components on top. Two simple, symmetrically placed knobs on the face of the amp. A badass steampunk/industrial design.

Bit of a shame to cover up that beautiful 3F with the SW51, but that's a nice glass stack you have there. Where is the shelving from?

And OT, but how do would you compare the SW51(+?) and 3F for the Utopias? 3F is dream amp for me for my Clears, but they already sound great out of my SW51+.

The SW51+ is a loaner @tommytakis actually! When I return it I plan to have nothing on top so the 3F can shine :) Did this for now because not enough desk space haha.

The shelving is actually both monitor/desk stands from amazon:
...although honestly any desk riser would work -- just make sure the dimensions fit your equipment. I like to put desk risers over any dac/amp with air vents on top so dust doesn't get into the circuitry -- I guess I'm a bit paranoid :p I also have this idea that it improves airflow/thermals, and can also "free-up" the space on top to put stuff.

I'll answer your SW51+ and 3F questions in depth later when I post a review comparing both, but let's just say that the SW51+ sounded impressive and engaged me equally, though I find the 3f to feel slightly punchier with sharper transients. I posted some comparisons with the JAR 650/600, but will write up more clear/utopia impressions later.

This is my work setup at home.
I'm using the Neumann NDH20 primarily for mixing
    The Audeze LCD4 for mastering.
I have a modded alessandro ms2ei for pleasure listening (or for an alternative check)

My amp is Burson Vivid V6 for the Neumann
The LCD4 is powered by a prototype amp by a good friend from Denmark. Gustav from goly.dk

The Questyle is being used as a usb transport from mac mini and I'm feeding it spdif coax to Forssell Technologies DAC.

    Cskippy,
I'm really curious with the solaris? What have you used previously and share with me your impression on it?

kn19h7, I'm really curious who you're finding the dangerous music dac with the nimbus (and what is that unit on reverse? it looks like an SPL brand)

Um, the gears aren't related to my profession.. I am just a weaboo who happens to browse audio sites as well haha :p

And yup, that's a SPL Performer s800, driving the SR1a.

I see you have some interesting setup as well! ;)

These are my thoughts on Solaris:
    https://www.superbestaudiofriends.o...ream-of-consciousness.7044/page-3#post-257072

I’ve also owned quite a few DACs and feel Solaris is best suited for my preferences and needs. The other DACs I’ve owned are attached.

Sorry for potato quality garbage photo but this is the home desk setup. I put a desk directly in front of the gear rack for my 2-channel stuff too, and I just patch in when I need to use headphones. Since the Euforia only has 1 RCA output, I've been running it into channel 1 of the Saga in passive mode with the volume wide-open on the Saga (so as to control volume on the Feliks), with parallel outputs from the Saga to my sub amp and my power amp for my mains.

Schiit Eitr (got a Lynx E22 on the way) > EAD DSP 9000 III > Feliks Euforia 20th Anniv (gifted to me from Feliks for setting up USA distro, this thing kicks ass as a preamp and with the 6XX in particular) > Modded HD6xx / Fostex TH900 with EARS for measuring tweaks I make during breaks (graph is current TH900 config).
