Looking forward to this. Having so many qualified beta testers is making this worth waiting for. Not gonna go with pi until I get the right topping.

Zerrodefex- why was rallye666 banned? He/she was offering to help with the testing that I asked for. I am confused. And a little concerned that I really don;t know the rules.

I think you can just keep on doing what you've been up to. The mods just don't want anyone we don't know to jump in and take advantage of the system, especially since they haven't proven themselves to be trustworthy yet.

@Michael Kelly Saw the shipping notice this afternoon. Now things get real! I get to hear what the initial testers heard back in June. Bring it on!

Been such a good journey watching this come to fruition. I wouldn't be a good test subject and there are far more qualified ears here but ill be ready for the retail version.

Can't wait to get my hands on the retail version.
This is gonna be a great showdown between Rune Audio/Vomulio2 and Daphile.

i'm mostly a lurker on this thread as I do not even have a dac like a Gungnir Multibit yet, but read through the thread and find the whole development process very interesting. Next purchase will be a Gungnir Multibit, so this thread has been informative of what would lead to a more ideal performance of the dacs instead of usb. Its also very nice that you are willing to help lurkers and contributors! Looking forward to a great product built on all the passion in this thread.

@Michael Kelly The board will have a female AES Cable, so I will need a male to male cable? Just making sure I have what i need to test it.

Edit: Having reread your posts from a little back, if you could send the male to male adapter, or tell me where I can get one so I can test your board. Thanks.

I have included a male to male adapter with each of the 6 units I sent out. Final version will have the Male XLR, so no adapter needed.

    Cheers,
    Michael

    I did introduce myself:
    http://www.superbestaudiofriends.or...ers-introduce-yourself.17/page-72#post-100153

And I do intend to buy this unit once it's out. I don't want to cause any problems ;)

I can see the issues the mods bring up. However I don't have an issue depending on how the testing is done. There was one product that needed testing but the prototypes weren't free. They were basically offered for the price of parts.

Anyway, I hope the product performs as well as it looks! Will there be any casings offered that are compatible with this shield?

We are currently designing a box to hold the pi plus the shield along with a 2 x 16 character display and a rotary encoder. A lot like what the guys at audiophonics did. The top of the unit will be a changeable acrylic plate along with a changeable back plate, which will allow us to support all of our audio shields. Right now we have the 502DAC, along with a single and dual tube DAC/amp shield. Eventually we plan to offer upgraded analog DAC's, such as AKM 4497eq and ES9018 saber DAC.

Now that we've straightened out our current audio shields, and are getting ready to put them in production, we're focusing on the enclosure.

    Cheers,
    Michael

Very nice! I would definitely be interested in one. Will it all be plastic? Will the plates attach simply enough that we could machine custom tops in 2D on a laser cutter or something like that?

I was ready to pull the trigger on a Audiophonics RaspDIGI LTE when I came across this thread. If you do something like that with your digital board I'll wait for that.

Extra week added to your ban for trying to create another account to get around your first ban.

Thank you :). No problems here!

Sorry if someone got offended. My goal (as i writed in my first post) was show @Michael Kelly my interest in this project and i clearly stated "count me in for PURCHASE".

I'm 1 of 6 guys who MK choosed as tester. When i received his email, first thing i did was asking him "how much and how can i pay?", just to proof i didn't wanna get it for free.

I will buy production unit for sure and i'm glad MK choosed me as i'm going to test it into a different audio system (RPi-based audiophile CarPC).

I will certainly give an extended feedback when i'll receive the unit.

    Sorry again.
