By all descriptions this is an iem that should be heard and measured and reviewed here on SBAF. I’m tempted to buy a pair but there’s a lot I’m tempted to buy right now.

I bought a pair when I discovered they are 200$ off right now due to a Sony sale. So I’m no longer interested but I think they would be great for a loaner tour. They’re like a poor man’s Andromeda 2020. Very close actually. Andromeda is better but not by as much as you’d expect. Sound signature is very close.

Ive got an iem on loan right now. When I get it back I’ll do a loaner tour with my M7. In the near future. So no need for SBAF to invest in it.

You live up to the tag :)

Not an IEM person (most hurt my tiny conchae) but genuinely curious about measurements and other subjectives. How would you say they compare to the Andro 2020 for sense of there-ness and texture? Been ages since I demoed the OG Andro so I'm kinda reaching with triangulation but if it's not that much worse than the CA then that's a big win.

Oh wow these are much less pricey.

Well I didn’t say it’s as good. It’s more that it will appeal to people with similar preferences as the M7 and Andromeda 2020 have a similar sound signature. But the Andromeda is probably twice as detailed and much more refined with a bigger soundstage. It’s really the way headphones should be. You pay more for better technicalities but manufacturers always put tonal balance first. So even cheap stuff is listenable. The M7 also has a very different kind of timbre and I could see some people preferring one over the other because of that. One more thing since this isn’t really the place for this, I’m still having trouble with an upper midrange bump on the M7 which I haven’t managed to correct with tips. Probably not an issue for most people.

Isn't the 3khz bump a compensation for the ear/pinna? Either way i don't hear much forwardness. Think it's a great iem but i'm not in the market to pay more, i feel that's better spent on my two channel setup or music.

I’m not going on graphs I’ve never seen measurements of these. Just my impressions. They definitely have north of neutral upper midrange.

I should stop I feel we’re abusing this sub forum. Well have plenty of time to discuss them soon ;)

You chose a great iem as your “best for budget”! They do some things better than the CA iem’s.

It’s my first serious iem and i feel like i’m done. Saw a post by @SoupRKnowva that intrigued me so took a chance. It’s not available in Europe but it wasn’t too bad came down to about €600 with shipping and taxes. Btw the M9 might be interesting as well, from what i gather a bit more extension and maybe a bit more v-shaped.

Andromeda 2020 is €1250 here, not something i’m willing to spend on something i use on the go and might lose.

fuck what's wrong with me. I just spent 50 bucks on a variety pack of Azla Sedna earfit light short tips to send with these on the loaner (my favorite tips with them, the stock tips sound like shit) as well as 2 tip cases to house all but one size of the plethora of 2 sets of stock tips. God damn it...
