Another Q for @AllanMarcus - How big are the tables back there? I think we had about 10 people last time, and no one at one end could hear the people at the other end. Might be good to cap this at a reasonable # of folks, or see if the restaurant folks can work with us on table arrangement?

 

14 people last year! (the empty seat is mine)


I don't think there is any way to arrange the tables otherwise, but I'm open to suggestions. We could play musical chairs mid-meal and reorganize the seating

I'm made the reservation for 18 people just in case. I'll ask the restaurant if they have any ideas. Maybe we could order drinks (and possible apps) and switch seats after 20 minutes, then order meals. Sounds overly organized though.

 

Gonna need two chairs for @JoshMorr , one for him and one for his ego.

 

Have them sound treat that room. It's an audio festival for fucks sake...

 

Or we could all wear headphones!

Also seconded on Domo - probably the coolest restaurant in Denver. There’s really nothing else like it in the US that I know. Practiced aikido with those guys before and they’re super nice.

 

Yea that's the ticket, do a hangouts and have 40 people at the table all looking at their phones, that way everyone can be heard. Haha

 

If you were to recommend one thing to check out at RMAF, what would it be?

I realize it's much easier to answer this question after you've been through the show, but is there any you've been looking forward to checking out? Anything from prior shows that are "must see" (and hear)?

 

I didn't get a chance to hear those Tekton Double Impacts last year... been wondering about them ever since.

There'll be some new (unmentionable) things over in the headphone area this year too... Very hyped for at least 2 of them.

 

The Tektons sounded good last year, and are worth listening to. Their price to value ratio is extremely good comparing to their competition. They are not that pretty. Also, I think the rooms were too small for them, and not treated well.

Your comment about new products is very intriguing. Once you feel comfortable doing so, please at least tell us which vendors to see. Thanks.

update: I see that iFi is going to announce something.

Hey, hows the toof?

On my visit list since they always have great sounds are High Water Sound, Harbeth & Amphion. Also need to see if the crazy expensive flash storage at Fidata is all that. I also need to swing by ESD speakers.

 

For me it's about checking out the new stuff. Since a lot of new stuff isn't announced before RMAF sometimes, this makes it hard to know what to suggest you go see. With that said... Zach's booth (ZMF) should have a Pendant amp I want to hear.

 

Everyone should hear baby driver, cast-iron, potato speakers. I believe they'll be in room 9009.
